About
Waterloo Beer is brewed with care in the Mont-Saint-Jean farm, the famous 'English Hospital' of the Battle of Waterloo. More than ever, this high-quality beer is a symbol of authenticity, craftsmanship and courage. In 1815, during the famous conflict, the troops were supplied with high-fermented beer that gave them strength and courage to face each other. Two centuries later, Anthony Martin is proud to revisit this moment in history by reviving the local beer quality, prepared strictly according to the original recipe: Waterloo – beer of bravery!

Bottled. Hazy golden with small head and massive amounts of sediment. Extreme pineapple aroma. Sweet and thick, medium bodied with compact malt. Caramel and pineapple dominates, alcoholplays a part. All he parts of a tripel is there, but they don’t sem to really fit together perfect.

Bottled. Lighty hazy ruby, average head. Aroma of caramel and cardamom. Sweet and densely malty with rounded mouthfeel and medium-full body. Lightly nutty and soapy with some strawberry and peach. Flavourful and quite complex. Surprisingly good souvenir beer.

(33cl bottle) Hazy, dark amber colour with a massive beige foamy head. Sugary sweet toast-malty nose with caramel, light spicy notes, dried fruits and a noticeable alcohol. Sweet flavour, medium to full bodied with a moderate carbonation. Molassy toast-malty taste with caramel, subtle fruitiness and a tinge of spices; the alcohol gets more and more obvious towards the finish, which is sweet, malty and a bit brandy-like. Just okay.

(33cl bottle) Hazy, golden coloured hue with yeast chunks and a big but non-persistent frothy white head. Dusty, yeasty and citrus-fruity nose with spicy accents. Moderatly sweet and slightly bitter flavour with a lively carbonation. Malty and citrus-fruity taste with a soft touch of hops from the beginning and a balanced not too heavy yeasty spice factor; sweet-bitter, slightly fruity and spicy finish.

Bottle (purchased at Rudat’s, Dortmund): Pale golden, visible sediments, creamy, never collapsing, lacing white head, distinctive lemony-fruity nose, mixed with the aroma of lemon-peel and shy aromatic hops; sweet flavour, full bodied, silky MF; sweet finish with shy hops and a light tartness around. well drinkable brew with well hidden alcohol, not too complex........

Bottle (bought at Rudat’s, Dortmund): Rddiosh amber coloured, stable yellowish-tanned head, solid sweet fruity-malty nose with a touch of molasses; full sweet flavour, full bodied, a bit fizzy MF; sweet dark-malty finish with a rather restrained bitterness in the aftertaste. Not bad, but quite sugary and a bit monotonous.........

Corked bottle
Hazy blond color. The aroma is malty and spicy; the flavor as well has some malt, some sweetness, and the classic spicy character. Quite obvious.

A hazy yellow beer with a white head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of fruit, while the flavor is sweet malty with primary notes of yeast. A very simple triple.

(Bottle 75 cl) Pours a clear, pilsener golden with a small, white head. Aroma of yeast and banana. A bit too heavily carbonated for my liking. Medium-bodied, sweetish malty with distinct notes of yeast. Lightly sulphurous finish. 210506
