0,33l bottle at home. Couldnt find a BB date. black color, small tan head. smells earthy, light smoke, licorice, ice cream, light fruity notes, bitter chocolate, some wood. quite subtle but also very refreshing smell. great and unique. full body, soft carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes earthy, licorice, some alcohol, bitter chocolate, coconut, light spices, some vanilla. finishes rather creamy with notes of licorice, coconut, light sweetness and some bitter chocolate. very nice one, lovely creamy taste, good complexity. very enjoyable beer.

Bottle from Reserve A Biere, Colmar, Alsace, France, consumed at home Thursday 21st July 2016. Pours a murky brown colour with a tan head. In the mouth this is a big, chewy, malty beer with plenty of oomph. It straddle a good balance in that it is not too sweet. I like this, it’s another good beer from Sainte Crucienne. Btw I think that this is named after a bar in Colmar which is near (next-door to the beer shop) A7 A3 T7 P4 Ov14 3.5

Bottle from Dranken Geers, Oostakker, Nr Gent, Belgie consumed at home making burgers in the back garden Tuesday 19th July 2016, Hazy dirty gold with a large foamy white head. A tangier wheatier beer than expected. However this is a wheaty beer and is refreshing, some summer fruits in particular a touch of nectarine or peach perhaps. It’s a jolly pleasant beer. Hazy orange-brownish color, small steady creamy head, lace. Aroma has tropical fruits, caramel and pine. Medium-bodied. Tropical fruits, pine, some citrus and hints of alcohol in the flavor. Strong IPA which is drinkable although has some alcohol warm in the aftertaste.

330ml bottle from Saveur Biere. Dark brown colour with a tan foam head leaving lacing. Aroma of malt, chocolate, roast, with mango and zesty citrusy hop. Taste is rich malt, roasted, caramel, coffee & milk chocolate, with fruity orange citrus and spicy earthy bitterness. Smooth mouthfeel, medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry tangy bitter finish. Nicely drinkable.

pours a cloudy pale amber with a big steady white head and a nice lacing. aroma of sprucy hops, resin, weed and malts. flavour of spruce, grass. oily mouthfeel. balanced bitter finish.

Bottle from Reserva, Colmar, Alsace region, consumed at home whilst cooking Chicken Tagine with Preserved Lemons and Artichoke Hearts on the BBQ, 3rd July 2016 Pours hazy amber with a white head. The smokiness is nice because it’s subtle and works with the beer instead of taking over. A steady IPA, some slightly unripe fruit and a little pithy edge. The carbonation is nicely soft, good beer yet again from Sainte Crucienne (Collaboration, I believe) A6 A3 T7 P4 Ov15 3.5

Bottle from Dranken Geers, Oostakker, Nr Gent, Belgie. Consumed at home whilst cooking large Conchiglioni Rigata pasta stuffed with small north sea brown shrimps, cream cheese and shallots. Saturday 2nd July 2016 Dark amber with a clingy off white head. A little hop sting on first sip, it’s not hugely hop but it makes its presence felt. A little buzzy burnt caramel and a little bit of vanilla, it’s good but isn’t wowing me. A6 A3 T7 P4 Ov14 3.4

Bottle from Dranken Geers, Oostakker, Nr Gent, Belgie. Consumed at home Saturday 2nd July 2016, Pours a red amber with a haze and a large white frothy head. A touch soapy on the nose, soft carbonation, it’s good, it tastes 7.2% though in saying that it’s not boozy. It’s a fruity beer but there is a light toffee and caramel underbelly that sort of slows the hops progress. A6 A4 T7 P3 Ov14 3.4
