Buddel: Very deep ruby-amber coloured, small - but stable - tanned foamy layer; sweet and nevertheless complex nose of roasted malt, coffee - as expected -, nuts and chocolate; moderate to solid sweet-bitter flavour, any acidity barely detectable; soft and quite full bodied; lingering and a bit drier and more bitter finish, still with aromas of nuts and coffee.Pretty good...

Bottle, 5.6%. Weak bready and salty aroma. Clear dark brown colour. Small stable tan head. The flavour is quite roasted with a decent barley bitterness and a nicely dusty finish. Sort of like a Schwarzbier.

Bottle. Pours hazy copper brown with airy beige head. Clear aroma of malt and caramel, with hints of hops and touches of yeast. Bitter, roasty flavour with notes of wholemeal bread and mild touches of caramel malt. Roasty and estery afteraste. Thin body - if this had been avoided, the beer would be so much better.

Bottle, 5.0%. Mild, refreshing, citric hop aroma. Cloudy golden colour. Small frothy white head. The flavour starts off with a good bitterness which gives way to a little butter, cardboard and a faint floral hoppiness. The finish is mellow, bordering on boring.

Bottle. Pours hazy straw with small off-white head. Clear aroma of malt, with notes of fruit and hops and touches of yeast. Bitter, dusty and hoppy flavour with fruity notes and touches of malt and yeast. Lingering, bitetrish and mildly dusty aftertaste. Not that bad, just a little tame.

A bit weird and unbalanced. Yet tasty and ok.
Dark color with a tan head. Ok intensity in the aroma. Decent body and an ok carbonation. Bready like pumpernickel, some toffee, some spices and mild roasted.

Pours dark brown from the bottle. The head is more fizzy than creamy and fades relatively quick. The beer has a fairly high level of carbonation. A sweet and bready aroma greets the nose, really more like Kuchen with lots of brown sugar than pumpernickel. A hint of dark fruit lingers in the background. Quite appealing actually. The beer starts off rich and lightly chocolate sweet before proceeding to a dry and bitter finish. The pumpernickel taste does come through, especially when you burp. Generally an agreeable brew, especially in taste and smell, but the palate seemed fizzy, oily, and yet still too thin all at the same time. Still liked this one though.
