330ml bottle found at an Asian supermarket in central Paris - where else would you find Cambodian beer? Pours with a pick black body, solid but small head. Aroma of roasted barley and toast. Taste is like a chocolate sunday, with coffee. Very sweet, sugary almost. Wet finish. Tasty but imperfect.

bottle, special delivery from Wölflinswil- Merci! Clear pale yellow colour, mid-sized white head. Malty, dusty, slightly hoppy.

This stuff was on tap at the Walkabout Hotel many years ago in Phnom Penh, for half price, as they were trying to get rid of it as fast as possible and free up room for Tiger Beer. Aroma was weak, flavour was weak, but it was humid and I was thirsy. But even then I recognized it as a crappy drink. Price point was there, however, and that’s all you can really say.

Can 320ml. @ [ Tasting by Maria ].Clear medium to dark brown color with a average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, light beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, coffee, toffee notes, moderate to light heavy licorice, vanilla notes, alcohol light notes. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long to average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20081105]

Bottle. Pours a clear pale golden color with a longlasting white head. Fruity slightly yeasty grainy aroma. Sweet malty grainy flavor with some weak hints of hops. Fruity malty finish with a slightly crisp bitter aftertaste.

Canned (thanks Theis!) Deep ruby/black colour with big brown head. Aroma is alcohol, sweet roasted malts and some acidic coffeeish notes. Flavour is much the same. Alcohol and acidicness didn’t fit so well...

Dark nut brown color, almost opaque, small expresso head. Light roasted and ashy "tobacco" nose. Alcoholic, tobacco and tar in the flavor. Long bitter and alcoholic aftertaste. Not very balanced FES, but new beer country.

A golden fizzy lager, with adjunct rice aroma, light sulfur. In mouth, a dry beer, with notes of cardboard, some light crisp german hops, rather short in mouth. 320 ml can at Phnom Penh Noodle House, Ottawa, 4.50$.
