Bottle. Pours a hazy amber with an orange hue and a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has bread and grains with a bit of band aid and a hint of cherry underlying. Flavor has sweet grains and cherry with a bit of bread and cookie underlying.

On tap at Republic 7 Corners. Pours near black with a gray deep brown brown head that dissipates to the edges and laces. Aroma has earthy dark grains and some mesquite with a bit of grass and a decent amount of roasted malts backing. Flavor has chalky dark grains, roasted malts and some grass with a hint of sweetness underlying.

On tap at Republic, pours black with a small beige head. Aroma is very malty, with plenty of caramel, bready malt, and a tiny hint of smoke. Flavour is more punchy in the smoke, with that nice mesquite character showing up, along with caramel, toffee and bready malt. Nice and malty, with just enough smoke to make this interesting. Good stuff.

On tap at Republic, pours black with a small beige head. Aroma brings out a big complex array of roasted malt, smoked notes, and earthy, piney hops. Flavour likewise delivers, with a great balance of roasted malt and piney hops, and a touch of smokiness to round this off. Full-bodies and compels. Excellent.

Bottled.brown color. Some brown sugar and lots of smoke.finish is earthy and dry. Not an irosh ale at all with thiauch smoke and a dark brown color.

Winterfest 2018. I can taste the aquavit. Dry, spices, clove and nutmeg possibly. Moderately roasted malt. Unusual and good.
