33 cl can served in a frozen dimpled mug, shared with Javi, toasting to my late old man. A very dark mahogany to black pour, shiny and glossy, with a moka-hued, thick and persistent head. Aroma is coffee, blackberry, cola jelly, chikory, smoke, cocoa, leather, tonka bean, blackcurrant... Dense, slightly sweet onset. Slow sip, thick and heavy, with loads of well balanced booze. Powerful bitter outset, long-lasting creamy finish with renewed hints of coffee and cocoa. Great.

33 cl can at Taproom Lambic, Alcalá de Henares (Spain), celebrating my old man's 76th birthday (many happy returns, dad.) A dark brown pour, so dark it's basically black, with a hazelnut-hued, thick, long-lasting head. Intense aromas of coffee, cocoa, choco-milkshake, tonka bean, palo santo wood, ripe mulberry and, yes, hazelnut. Gr-r-reat nose. Slick, slightly un-dry (yet not sweet), full-bodied, mellow and velvety. Very bitter finish, well balanced by the acidity and sugarness, lasting long and bringing tinges of more cocoa and coffee and Nutella. Boy, is this a sick damn good stout.
