This is brilliant. Akin to a chocolate/vanilla milkshake, with a nice coffee finish. Ace. Also, recording Spurs at the Etihad, so refrain from any spoilers.

This is my 2,000th New Jersey beer rating, so I wanted it to be a memorable brew! 500ml capped and waxed bottle from the brewery. Opaque dark brown pour. Brief tan head. Rich, roasted malt aroma hints at dark chocolate, vanilla and oak. Nice legs. First sip is sweet chocolate fudge. Then comes the rush of warming alcohol you’d expect from the 13.1% ABV. Soft and silky on the palate, if you take this in small sips. Further along, I’m getting notes of vanilla, toasted walnuts, bourbon, oak, treacle, maple syrup, black currants, tobacco and more. Remarkably smooth for such a big brew! Now it’s time to work toward NJ brew number 3,000!

Bottle at Ryan's wedding: pours near black with beige head. Aroma is caramel, toffee, vanilla, bourbon. Large. Taste is punchy, burny, sugary, boozy. Good.

Bottle, at Ryan’s nuptial share. Pours dark brown. Toffee, booze, bourbon, nutty, vanilla, leathery, dark chocolate, rich red fruit. Nice oily body. Outstanding.

Definitely heavy Sauvignon blanc and goose berries, little lime zest on the finish. This is very refreshing and flavorful. Thanks Chris. I’m high.
