Aroma: American oak, a bit meaty, little boozy.
Taste: along the same lines, moderately sweet, nice barrel notes, nice maple notes.
Overall: nice one.

Dark brown. On the nose, it's got umami dark cacao nibs, light maple. It's relatively light on the palate. The maple is decent, and gets richer towards the finish. Balanced bitterness. Ok, I want more sugar but the malt base actually allows the maple to come through fairly well without being overly sweet.

500mL bottle, pours black with a tiny beige head. Nose is full of deep bourbon barrels, gentle maple syrup, wood, iron, and a touch of molasses. Flavour has rich bourbon, bigger maple syrup than the nose suggested, wood, and molasses. Nice barrel character, with the maple syrup adding nice sugary complexity without being cloying. Very good.

Poured from 500mL bottle (2022 vintage; 12.5% abv; Maple Double Barrel). Very dark brown with almost no off white head. Nice rich woody bourbon with light maple underlay, feint vanilla, not picking up cinnamon. Very nice.

500mL bottle. Pours black with a minimal head. Bourbon, maple syrup, and sweet malts on the nose. Flavour has lots of bourbon, maple syrup, dark sugars, some marshmallow. Mouthfeel is a touch heavy. Very nice, I really like the barrel treatment.

Draft at Paragon, 12/18/25. Unclear darker orange color, off white head. Grapefruit, pineapple, papaya. Some light apricot and peach notes. Clean. Drinks lighter than it is ABV-wise. Good beer.

Fles gekregen van Keukenman, thuis geprobeerd. Het is een diep donkerbruin bier met een bruinig schuim. Het heeft een aroma van gebrande mout, koffie en kokos. De smaak is vol, dik stroperig, zoet, vanille, kokos en koffie.
