7/11/2025. Cask at the 13th Beccles Beer Festival. Pours fine. Aroma is roasted malts, ashy, oaty, camp coffee, dark chocolate, hedgerow berries. Quite sweet oatmeal taste, moderate bitterness, ashy, drying, with just an edge of tartness. Medium body, light carbonation. Bittersweet slightly clammy finish. Started quite well, did fade a bit.

From old notes. Vacation in England 2000. Cask @ the brewpub. Copper colour. Tastes a lot like Chaucer, but clearly a bit stronger. Also a bit less hoppy...

From old notes. Vacation in England 2000. Cask @ the brewpub. Starts mildly fruity, but develops quickly into a firm hopbitter flavour, which mellows in the finish. Good.
