About
Oregon's First and Only B Corp Brewery. Founded in 2008.
Beer as a force for good.

Hopworks was founded in 2007 by our Brewmaster, Christian Ettinger. He started brewing in his parent’s kitchen during his first summer break in college and it didn’t take long to decide he would open his own brewpub.

With locally-sourced, organic and Salmon-Safe hops, our 20-barrel brewery produces 10,000 barrels of beer per year for our two brewpubs, airport brewpub, and for distribution throughout Cascadia and beyond. From composting to salvaged materials, and pervious pavers to hand dryers, we’ve made every effort to protect our planet with thoughtful alternatives to the status quo.

On tap foggy dull orange. Scant with head and ring. Ice fresh orange aromas. Less so in the flavors. Standard general juicy ipa flavors. Modest bitters and a fresh light palate. A little orange zest bite at the end

Not saying NE style IPAs aren’t appreciated, it’s just that I prefer Imperial IPAs and regular IPAs considerably more. I have a 12 oz can of Robot Panda ready to go inside a snifter. The result is a dark orange-gold body finished by a strong but dwindling off-white head. A nice smell to it, sort of piney and sort of citrusy. The taste, well, I find it mostly average. Orange, pine needles, some turpentine, white bread and a bit of malt. No rewrite of the books.

Can. Pours a clear light rosy red wit ha white head that dissipates quickly and completely. Aroma has sweet berries with a light tartness with a bit of sweet grain backing. Flavor sweet and tart dark berries throughout with a hint of acid and a thin finish.

From a can. Pour is big and black & large and in-charge. Rolling head like a nitro. Malty olfactory. A little cloying on the uptake, quite sweet. Thicker mouth coating palate. Difficult up front. In the middle it tends to settle down a little but in the end I can't help thinking how good this could be if it didn't have the honey added. In the end its just another dark beer with a sweet sticky attitude. At least it look really appetizing when I poured it into the glass.

Lime and some grapefruit. Pours golden amber with ok head. Tangy, cloying finish. A lot of better choices around in Pacific NW. Can.
