About
Oregon's First and Only B Corp Brewery. Founded in 2008.
Beer as a force for good.

Hopworks was founded in 2007 by our Brewmaster, Christian Ettinger. He started brewing in his parent’s kitchen during his first summer break in college and it didn’t take long to decide he would open his own brewpub.

With locally-sourced, organic and Salmon-Safe hops, our 20-barrel brewery produces 10,000 barrels of beer per year for our two brewpubs, airport brewpub, and for distribution throughout Cascadia and beyond. From composting to salvaged materials, and pervious pavers to hand dryers, we’ve made every effort to protect our planet with thoughtful alternatives to the status quo.

Can. So has a hazy pale amber thing going on. Big head but the body doesn't look great. It's got more of a stale old school aroma - says it was brewed in September 2020 but seems like it just arrived to BC now. I know COVID's made the border trickier but that's ridiculous. On the palate, it's all kinds of chewy, grassy a bit. The malts are actually clean and sweet pale malts, biscuity, but the hops have that oxidized thing I'm not into.

16oz can from Brewers Haven. Dark brown , beige skin of head. Roasty, nutty aroma. Sweet, roasty malts with a gentle bitterness, more from the roast than the hops. Smooth.

16 oz. can, pours a hazy pinkish red with a small white head. Aroma is rather yogurty, with gentle, tart blueberries, lacto, and a bit of floral notes. Flavour is tart and somewhat jammy, with some baking spices, tart blueberries, and a bit of lacto. Jammy and somewhat spicy. Nothing all that complex but it works.

Orange body with almost no head. Thin hay aroma. Malty and hoppy taste, fuller and better than I expected with a crisp balanced finish.

Golden colour, slight haze, with nice head. Elegant, biscuity malts aroma with a touch of PNW hops. Full bodied, but with just some light residual sweetness; no sticky malts, just a good degree of toast; biscuity malts; then, bold hopping, with strong bitterness, some pine resin, slightly herbaceous in the finish.
Solid West Coast IPA.

Cloudy light brown colour with large bubbles. It has mild orange aroma. The flavour is muddy, there doesn't seem to be any interesting IPA here, and the orange makes things worse. At first, I thought it ended with some decent hops, but the feeling vanishes with subsequent sips. Dirty beer. Drinkable.
