Bottled. Pale golden with a smal white head. Fruity and piney aroma, and a quite bitter and fruity flavor. Dusty mouthfeel. Nice session-beer. (060908)

Bottle. Golden beer with a light head. The aroma is lightly hopped and toffee, and the flavour is relatively dry, slightly caramel and toffee with a hint of sourness. Overall a reasonable beer.

Cask at GBBF 2006. The 2nd beer of Saturday (I had a pint of Cains Bitter whilst everyone else settled in and started arriving). Golden, thin off white head. Good carbonation. Nice hop aroma. Bit of sickly malt. Finish is a bit disappointing. Odd bitter. Bit earthy I guess from the Goldings hops. Some juicy fruit.

[Cask at GBBF] Dark brown. Sweetish with light but solid body. Nicely roasty with notes of bread and fruit. Fairly low bitterness. A well made mild!

[Cask at GBBF] Clear golden. Lightly soapy nose. Mildly malty and sweet with rounded mouthfeel and notes of fruit. Carefully salty finish.

(Bottle 50 cl) Pours a slightly hazy, dark amber with a handsome, dense almost nitro-like head with excellent retention leaving a pretty lacework. Aroma of malt and nuts. Medium-bodied with light accents of caramel and nuts, but overwhelmingly rather bitter. Dry finish with lightly fusty notes. 140706

(Bottle 50 cl) Pours a slightly hazy amber, no head and basically no carbonation either. Malty, slightly sour aroma. Light body with vague notes of nuts, but otherwise just sour, vinegary and plain nasty. Yet another bottle conditioned English beer gone terribly bad. Needs a rerate. 040706

500ml bottle from the Beer Festival in St. Albans, Sept.05. Bottle contitioned (bb.02.04.2006). Clear deep brown colour with a huge dense eggshell head, mostly lasting. Weak sweet malty aroma. Burnt dark malts and fruity flavour with yeasty undertones. Dry finish with a slight touch of harsh bitterness. Rather good! Enjoyed at home while reading the April edition of CAMRAโs Whatโs Brewing and Beer (08.04.2004).

Hazy orange amber, off-white fluffy head. Fruity and flowery aroma, english hops, quite pleasant. The flavor is a bit of a letdown - Light fruity and metallic yeasty notes on top of a very light strawmalt body. The dead yeast is grating the senses - and the bottle has bbeen standing upright for several days so I dont think it would settle down more than it has.
