330ml bottle at home. Pours a lovely light brown with red hues, medium off white head that dissipates quickly, a little more carbonated than I’d like, the style is known for being easy to drink. First impression of the flavour is overly sweet, brown sugar and bready biscuit, leaves a cloying finish.

330ml bottle at home. Pours a creamy bright and effervescent yellow, large white head. Orange zest and sorbet, a bit of brown sugar sweetness, slightly acidic. Finishes nicely, refreshing, a bit overly sweet but keeps the citrus zest.

New Beer Distributors, New York City 11.2 ounces ($5): Pours black with a small brownish head. Aroma is light chocolate, pretzels, and some espresso. Taste is a little on the sweet side. Some light bitterness in the finish. Plenty of chocolate. Not all that complex. Not bad. Good to see more Irish micros coming to the US.

Bottle at Mum and Dads, from Callans, 24/12/14. Clear golden with a moderate off white covering. Nose is citric tinged straw, orange peel, spice, herbal notes. Taste comprises light honey, sweet licks, caramel, floral tones, light spice and clove, yeast, citric rinds. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok wit, a little too sweet though, struggled to finish it - last third of bottle went swimming towards the Irish Sea!
