Description
Von Ebert is owned and operated by Tom Cook, Dennis January, Eric Simko and Tom S. Cook. Tom S Cook, “Von Ebert Brewing was named after my Great Grandmother Ebert. She was the guiding force to my immigrant family when they came over from Germany to the United States in the early 1900’s. The family name Von Ebert translates to “of the house of Ebert. As Ebert roughly translates to boar in German our theme was born.”

Our trident approach to brewing encompasses what we love most about craft beer. We focus on clean drinking lagers, traditional and experimental hoppy ales, and our mixed culture fermentation program. Each of our breweries has a unique focus. Glendoveer houses our mixed culture and more experimental fermentation, while the Pearl hits heavy with IPAs and German inspired lagers. Between the two breweries we are consistently churning out new and exciting beers, be sure to stop in often to see what’s new!

On tap at Von Ebert Glendoover, pours a mostly clear blonde with a small white head. Aroma erupts with a bouquet of gooseberries and white wine-like hop expression. Flavour is wonderful, harnessing that gooseberry and white wine-like hop character, with just enough malt to back. Excellent usage of the NZ hops.

On tap at Von Ebert Glendoover, pours a clear blonde with a small white head. Aroma is somewhat estery, with gentle candi sugar and cereal malt. Flavour is too estery, like many North American tripels, with cotton candy, some esters, and some sweetness. It's not egregious or too sweet, but it just hasn't harnessed the yeast that well; and it's not carbonated enough. Usual stuff from non-Belgian brewers doing tripels.

On tap at Von Ebert Glendoover, pours a clear pale yellow blonde with a small white head. Aroma has some dank hops, some sweatiness, and a touch of woodiness. Flavour is better, with lots of dry, woody, piney hops, and a dry biscuity malt. Slightly assertive carbonation for the style that works well. Well-hopped. Very solid.

On tap at Von Ebert Glendoover, pours a clear blonde with a small white head. Aroma is pretty restrained, with cereal malt, straw and a hint of grassiness — not much hop character. Flavour is clean and crisp, well-hopped, with lots of grassy hops, straw, some spiciness, and crisp crackery malt. Very biting, grassy and hoppy. Very nice pils.
