Bottle: Poured a deep clear brown/burgundy color ale with a nice foamy head with good retention but no lacing. Aroma of caramel malt with some medium sweet notes also noticeable. Taste is a mix between some medium sweet malt with some notes of caramel malt. I could not detect any peat malt which is usually a characteristic that I enjoy in this style. Body is a bit thin and somewhat watery for the style with some good carbonation and alcohol is not discernable. I was a bit disappointed by this one, I thought it lack body and some smoke notes.

Can (BB 06/2009)
Amber-reddish clear color, not much head. Aroma has malts, metal, caramel, cardboard and barnyard (just after pouring). Sweetish, almost syrapy strong lager - apple-like fruityness mixed with crystal sugar. A bit grainy. Finish has harsh maltyness and caramel. Warming alcohol in the aftertaste. Sweet, bareable strong lager. As a Belgian beer, nothing to speak about, but in its style, ok.

330 ml bottle. Golden body with a thin white head. Aroma is mild, grain and a bit fruity with lots of alcohol. Flavor is sweet and sharp bitter with too much alcohol. This is sticky and unbalanced. Couldn’t finish this bottle.
