Clear effervescent gold. Decent white head. Aroma: malts, candy, overripe and stale fruit, hints of vanilla and marzipan. Medium body. Soft to average carbonation. Taste: high amount of alcohol, heavy malts, metal, esters, marzipan. Medium sweet and bitter. The bitterness is unpleasant. The aroma promised much more. In fact you have a harsh and boozy head crasher.

Only slight sugary, hops and cellary aroma. Very sweet, sugary and sticky. Lots of alcohol, unions and pineapple. Too sweet, sticky and alcoholic to be a good beer.

Slight malt aroma, porto. Full bodied. Roasted malt in the taste. Hopbitter with biscuit, chocolate, coffee and toffee. Some sweetness. Bitter finish. Well made beer, but it’s just not my taste. Re-rate: Grapes and some roasted malt in the aroma. Very sweet flavor with porto, grapes, caramel, some roasted malt and licorice. laurel. Malty, full bodied, almost thick. If this is Scottish I’m Sean Connery.

6,6% on the label. Bottle from Dortmunder: thanks! Reddish brown color. Apple and some plastic in the aroma. Grainy flavor with apple, grapes and plastic. Somewhat vinous. Not worth a second try. I wouldn’t be surprised, judging from the label, if this beer was brewed by Bavaria Lieshout.
