Description
Sixth generation headstrong Belgian true craft and traditional brewery, established in the early 1800's and on the same exact location were we are still today since 1859! Call us stubborn. But we are still a family with strong values. We still brew all our beers ourselves. We still use the original copper kettles. And we can guarantee our quality for at least another 150 years! We're headstrong. True craft brewers. And we're from Belgium!! These beers were not made in someone's garage as a hobby. For six generations, brewing is our family's passion. We do not follow hypes. We stay true to the craft. Without compromises on quality. And in this respect, you can call us stubborn.

Bottled. A deep red beer with a beige head. The aroma has notes of malt and caramel. The flavor is very sweet with notes of artificial sweetener, caramel, bread, and malt. The body is thin. Not the best Tafelbier around.

75 cL bottle. Pours dark brown with a fully gone head. Aroma is breadish and sweet caramelish. Sweet caramelish and light wet cardboardish. Flat roasted and caramelish flavoured finish.

Clear mahogany with a medium beige head. Sweet aroma with roasted malt, caramel and bread. Sweet flavour with roasted malt, caramel and chocolate. Finished sweet.

Bottle, 1.25%. Mild dusty, creamy aroma, perhaps some brown sugar. Clear dark brown colour. The flavour is sweet and sugary with a distinct metal note. Bad.

Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of yngwie. Pours a clear warm reddish brown with a beige head. Sweet, burned caramel. Thin body, roasted malt, caramel and metal. At least not overly sweet. 251009

Bottle, 5%. Quite citric aroma, some plasticky fruit. Cloudy, muddy red colour. Small light pink head. The flavour starts off very citric, almost vinegary. Also very sweet with a distinct marcipan note.

Clear deeep golden with a medium beige head. Sweet aroma with toasted malt, caramel and hints of hops. Flavour was sweet with toasted malt, caramel and hints of grassy hops. Finished light bitter.

Bottle: Straw coloured, lively carbonation, creamy white head; some sourish vegetables in the herbal-grainy nose; moderate bitter-sweet flavour, combined with a light acidity; light grainy-sourish finish, followed by a little tartness. Yawn...............

Amber colour. Nice aroma, lots of malt coming through. Flavour is well balanced with soft malty taste at first before the hops come through leaving a nice dry finish.
