Description
Modern Times is a 30bbl production brewery and tasting room in the Point Loma neighborhood of San Diego. Modern Times is named after a beautifully crazy utopian community founded in 1850 (see “Modern Times was..” for the full explanation), and (almost) all of our beers are named after real utopian experiments or mythological utopias.

Can. Wow, I cannot believe this beer is not getting better ratings. It drinks almost as good as Zombie Dust or Pseudo Sue and is sub 5%. This beer should be tearing up the Wheat Ale style. Pour is crystal clear orange with a small white head and good lacing. Aroma is CITRA! tropical citrus, grapefruit, passionfruit, lovely. Flavor is the same, lightly sweet and lightly bitter, no real wheat notes present, but wonderful fruity hoppiness. Amazingly full bodied for a 5%er, oily in the mouth. Fuck yeah.

I think I am the first person to rate this from a can! Thanks cococapuph! Pours clear amber orange with a medium beige head that dissipates fairly quickly with nice lacing left on the glass. Aroma is not strong, but a wonderful tropical mix of passionfruit, citrus, mango, cat piss, buttered toffee. Flavor is the same, dank as advertised. Light plus sweetness and light to medium bitterness. Medium body, very slick and oily in the mouth. Quite a tasty beer, with a surprisingly rich palate for 7%.

On tap at Stone Brewing World Bistro and Gardens. It pours a clear golden body and a dense, small white head. Sweet fruity flavor with peaches and orange. Lightly sweet flavor with orange and apricot. Quite sweet on the palate, yet feeling dry. Pleasant carbonation. Bitter, orange tasting finish. Way too sweet and boring this one. 130817
