Description
Casita Brewing Company is owned and operated by Ryan and Mahalia Witter-Merithew. Ryan is a seasoned brewer, having worked as a professional brewer in Denmark, England, and of course, the United States over the last thirteen years. Mahalia is the heart of the business and the president of the company.

Casita started as a contract brewery at Hill Farmstead Brewery in Greensboro Vermont in 2015. In 2017, we moved this business to our home state of North Carolina, where we produced our beer at Duck-Rabbit Brewery in Farmville. In 2020, we are set to open our very own brewery and taproom in Mahalia's hometown of Wilson, NC. We will be open to the public by August 30th.

Over the years we have brewed over 50 different beers under the Casita name. Ryan is excited to bring this creativity to our new taproom, where we will be brewing some old favorites as well as some new beers we haven’t even dreamed of yet.

The logo for our brand is a letter 'C' in the shape of a little house. The 'C' of course stands for Casita, but it is our hope this 'C' will not only represent our brand, but a lot of our other favorite words that start with 'C', like craftsmanship, creativity, compassion, and community. These are the key principles of our business.

Bottle massive thanks to Leighton. It pours hazy bright yellow with a small white head. The aroma is fresh, loads of sweet citrus, lemon, grapefruit, lime, sherbet, vanilla and peppery spice. The taste is crisp, fresh, tart, grapefruit, pomello, sweet yellow grapefruit, sherbet, minerals, earthy, white bread and a hint of bright acidity with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate, massaging carbonation. Very well put together. Tasty & drinkable.

Bottle shared in London - picked up at the brewery. Mild gusher. Pours hazy yellow-gold with s frothy, white head. Gorgeous aroma, with lots of zesty lemon, grapefruit pith, pale bread, light yeast, hay. Light sweet flavor with mellow lemony tartness, some citrus candies, light bitter rind, more pithy grapefruit, a little grass. Light bodied with lively carbonation and massaging texture. Clean finish with more tangy lemon, grapefruit, melon, peach, flaked wheat, touches of yeast, grass, straw, rind. Outstanding.

500mL bottle, sent from yourilevesque (thanks a lot, Youri), pours a cloudy golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of rustic farmhouse notes upfront, a touch of citrus, and some spicy floral notes. Flavour is wonderfully balanced, with notes of lemongrass, juniper, citrus and rustic farmhouse notes. Loads of depth, with the perfect dryness and juiciness in harmony. The lime and lemongrass are likewise not too dominating. Excellent stuff.

On tap at the Modern Times Festival of Funk. It pours a pale yellow color with a small white head. The aroma is herbal with some lemon lime and hints of flowers. The flavor has more of the lemon, lime and orange with medium to strong clean acidity. A little herbal in the finish. Really well balanced and tasty.

Draught @ Hatten. Heavy fruitiness. A distinct tartness. Rather hoppy. Medium sweetness. Drinkable. Manages to be rather true to style and postmodern at once.
