Short-lived small white head over veiled orange-golden beer. Aroma as from preserved fruit, sucade. Bitterish, sweet, fade fruitflavour, some exotic fruitgums. Light, quite slick, not much carbonation. Oh well. Jandrain-Jandrenouille for this? Thanks to Stef!

Bouteille 33cl de Tagawa, Ixelles.
BB 12/2021, lot# 701.

Beer with yuzu (a Japanese citrus fruit), brewed for a Japanese 'bierfirma' apparently settled in Brussels (like OWA); brewed at Jandrain-Jandrenouille. Bottle from an Asian supermarket in Ghent. Egg-white, mousy, audibly fizzing, loose and quickly opening head, eventually vanishing, presumably under influence of the oils from the citrus; warm orange-tinged apricot blonde, hazy robe. Aroma of indeed fresh citrus (yuzu, quite mandarin-like in this case), orange peel, ripe peach, minerals, bread crumbs, banana, soap, dried dill, camomile. Crisp, fruity onset, sharply stinging carbonation, minerally, piercing through an estery profile with banana, peach and pineapple impressions but also notably refreshed by vivid citrus; supple bready and bit cereally malt body, light honeyish sweetishness on top but subtle, minerally effects and carbonation 'stings' throughout, ending in a lightly spicy and even somewhat rooty hop bitter finish with a citrus peel-like bitterness to it as well, next to lingering soapy-herbal and bready accents. Saison-ish Belgian beer with an exotic twist, decently hopped, vividly fruity and refreshingly citric: better than expected for where it came from, to be frank.

Alright. Not so exciting. Light fruitiness, light yeastiness, light bitterness, lightly interesting. Very inoffensive.

Tap at CBM JInbocho. Nice fruity ipa with touch of earthiness. Citrus, lightly tropical, yuzu? Bit floury, and flowery! Wheaty almost. Nice bitterness.

Tap at Cluster in Kashiwa. Grainy, very light yuzu, bit of sweetnes, maybe even creamy. Not so exciting. Not really very exciting for me. --- Beer merged from original tick of Rio Brewing Uijin on 09 Sep 2019 at 16:05 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 7. 33cl bottle from Tagawa Store in Brussels. F: medium, white, good retention. C: gold, very light hazy to almost clear. A: malty, vaguely fruity, orange, bit herbal, chamomile, mellow fruity. T: medium malty backbone, fruity, bit orange peels, bit herbal, dry on the palate, decent bitterness, I don’t find wheat yet not bad, medium body and carbonation, ok, almost enjoyed.

33cl bottle from Tagawa Store in Brussels. F: big, snow-white, good retention. C: yellowish hazy with a lot of yeasty (YUZU?) debris. A: citrus, floral, fruity, bit lemongrass, orange peels, spicy. T: medium malty backbone, bit citrus, honey, herbal, caramel, yeasty, decent long lasting bitterness, bit more sweet but nice balanced and enjoyable for me, medium body and higher carbonation.

Many thanks to Erzengel for sharing! A hazy dark golden beer with a huge off-white head. Aroma of herbal tea, yuzu, yellow fruits, moderate sweet pale malt. Taste of sweet pale malt, yellow fruits, yeast, yuzu, tea. Interesting!
