Location: 12 oz bottle from Buy Rite, 7/13/14
Aroma: The aroma is fairly light, some spice notes, hints of rye malts, and not much else
Appearance: This one pours a dark golden color with a fizzy off-white head
Flavor: The flavor is just not quite working for me, some stale malts, spice, and a little lemon
Palate: The mouthfeel is light, with an overly fizzy carbonation, and a slightly off finish
Overall Impression: This one's drinkability is probably it's least pleasurable component. The flavor and nose are just kind of dull, but not bad. The mouthfeel is actually bad. Not sure what went wrong here, but getting down a 12 oz of this wasn't even that easy, I can't imagine I'll want to try it again.

Bottle - Bitter roast malts. Brown black with a decent beige head. Bitter roast and some sea notes. Ok, but nothing special.

Drought. Clear yellow with small white foamy head, weak hops aroma, sweetish hoppy taste, low carbonation, long bitter finish. Not a great brew.

Location: 16 oz can (out of a 4-pack) from Buy Rite, 5/9/16
Aroma: The nose is clean and hoppy, some citrus and pine notes, and a bit of pale malt
Appearance: It pours a reddish-orange color with an off-white head and decent lace
Flavor: The flavor is clean citrus and pine/resin hops, with some malty notes as well
Palate: The body is light, but not watery at all, average carbonation, and a clean, dry finish
Overall Impression: I wasn't sure what to expect from this beer considering that Bolero Snort has both failed and exceeded my expectations in the past, but this is actually a very nice beer. I'll kill the rest of this 4-pack easily.

Location: Draft at Barcade - Jersey City, 4/5/14, Palindromic Rating #3553
Aroma: The nose is full of dry roasted coffee, with other notes of dark malts
Appearance: The pours is a thick brown-black color with a brown head and plus lace
Flavor: Tastes of dry roasted coffee, malty, with a light sweetness and a pretty decent bitterness
Palate: The body is medium-full, it has a soft carbonation, and a dry finish
Overall Impression: I thought this was a pretty nice one. I actually wasn't expecting a ton from this beer, so it easily exceeded my expectations.

Clear, dark brown coloured body with no head at all and no real opacity. Aroma of cardboard, metal, prunes and a touch of roasted malt - no hops at all to smell. Light to Medium-bodied; Assertive roasted malt and oatmeal up front with a surprisingly nice malt profile and some subdued creamy and milk notes and a touch of alcohol and bitterness at the end. Aftertaste shows only the roasted malt notes with nothing else to speak of, aside from some light toffee sweetness. Overall, a surprisingly decent beer after the smell was very mediocre - but this isn’t a black IPA, a porter at best, but not as bad as I thought it would be! I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Liqour Outlet in Boonton, New Jersey on 06-July-2013 for US$1.70 sampled at home in Washington on 24-March-2014.

New Beer Distributors, NYC can ($4.25): Pours near black with a tan head. Aroma is coffee and dark chocolate. Taste is light amounts of coffee, with some mild chocolate aftertaste. Not very sweet. Quite dry. This was a pretty good rendition of the style as far as I am concerned.
