Description
Kungsholmens Kvartersbryggeri is started in Stockholm by a group of beer enthusiasts and homebrewers. This is in response to the limited supply and the less flavorful beer. The brewery is named after the owner's childhood idol and grandfather, Nils Oscar.

In 2006 Nils Oscar outgrows the premises on Kungsholmen and the brewery moves to Fruängskällan in Nyköping, we feel at home here. When the brewery has reached its maximum capacity of 1,000,000 litres in 2013, another expansion starts, out with the old and in with the new. We now have a modern brewery and equipment that makes us very quality assured.

Almost black; firm alcohol in the nose with currants, raisins, milk chocolate; smooth palate with a milky, raisiny character and a dry finish. Well balanced, like a poor swedish man's version of Old Rasputin.

Reddish brown. Above aevrgare body, complex, almost playful hoppiness, roasty. Bitter finish. As always from this brewery an interesting high quality brew.

Pale yellow in colour with a rich head. Big, grassy saaz hop aroma. Softly malty, complex, and rather dry. The finish has a lingering bitterness. IMO this is more of a czechish style pilsener than a Dortmunder, and a good one at that. A beer that can be consumed in quantity.

Nut brown, sweetish, nicely malty and bitter. A good Christmas lager. ....

Dark reddish brown. Very malty, balanced malt sweetness, warming alcohol, perhaps still slightly too young when I sampled it. Rather bitter.

Red-brown. Thick. Big maltiness. Complex, with very nice hop profile. This beer need some time to mature. When sampled fresh it is overly sweet, but after a year or so it has dried out and becomes a well balanced hop dominated barley wine.

Amber cloloured, fruity, and balanced. This beer is not really made justice on bottles.

When you get the unfiltered version it is beyond doubt a world classic. But as that is usually impossible the bottled version is a good substitute. Black. Chewy, full bodied. Complex with salty licquorice aroma. Nice bitterness. While the first vintage was mindblowing subesequent vintages has failed to meet my very high expectations. The score has thus been lowered from (9/5/10/4/19 = 4.7)

Wonderful Munich lager with a deep copper colour and lots of complex maltiness.

Lager with soft hop and sweet malt combining nicely on the nose. The palate starts with fruity hop, giving way to malt towards the end.
