Three of three in my Chelada flight at the source, September 2024. Clear, active, medium gold, light lace. Malt & corn, lime essence, husk, earthy nose. Corn chip forward, green chilies, off-dry to dry. Feels like a base. Thin, light, heavy on the corn. Acidy. Solid Frito beer. Whatever.

Two of three in my Chelada flight at the source, September 2024. Clear, medium pale gold, light lace, generic premium feels. Veggie, light lime, corn nose. Starchy, veggie, zero heat green chilies & corn chips. Off-dry with a slight malty itch. Acid sans fruit. Whatever. The burps are quite good. @Beastiefan would give this a 4.5.

At the source. One of a flight of three of the same style. September 2024. I'm told they all have chilies. Opaque, medium gold, kinda still pour. Fruity, red pepper, hot sauce, a little funk. Acidy, fruit forward, red pepper heat, lime, minimal malt backdrop. Tried to end off-dry. Lots of buildup & huskiness but I never got the actual heat. Tomato burps. Kinda okay though.

On tap the source, short pour, September 2024. Clear, nucleated, scummy, medium gold pour. Premium beer stink. Sweet n hot pineapple ferment over some house spillage. Oily feels, slight pineapple & accompanying acid over spilled ale fumes. Coconut comes in very light & unadulterated. Very minor lime flavor on the tail. Ends off-dry but getting drier. Meh.

Short pour at the source, September 2024. Dull, matte black, cola highlights. Burnt toast, earth, a bit of vanilla, salty nose. Bittersweet, creamer, ash, salt, very minerally with an off-dry, parching finish. Thin. Okay-ish. Didn't love it.

On tap at Four Corners Dallas. Pint. Labeled Westie Super Series. Clear, medium gold, lacy. Boozy, yellow onion, slight herbal nose. Taste is upfront tropical, toasty dry middle, soft pith, a bit of boozy heat, slight herbal, vanilla when it warms, a mellow aspirin finish. Thin, crispy, medium high acid, close to dry. Really tasty. This was surprisingly good.

Tap at DFW. Pours clear garnet-orange with tan head. You know this will be a malty old-style IPA. Limited fruit with caramel on both the flavor and aroma.

Last halfsies @Four Corners. Hazy, pale yellow, somewhat still pour. Scent is mostly green chilis, chips & salty cheese. Prickly toasted green chilis, but with fast to evaporate heat. Unusually high acid seems to be the house mantra. Corn chips & a lime little citrus give it some semblance of complexity, but not much. These sadly all seem to taste the same. Still okay.

Thick, pale orange slurry at the source. Onion, heavy barn dank & curiously floral nose. Sweet onions, grill char, not so sweet orange juice, garlic, savory dough, big & bold bittersweet orange rind finish. Residual pith & numb mouth. Boozy enough. 6/5 in mouthfeel. Pretty good in moderation.
