Description
We create our own beer recipes – with homemade malt (BOM means Belgische Originele Moutbakkerij or Belgian Original Maltbakery) forming the basis for a secret composition of ingredients, called a “BOM package” – that we brew according to the principles of a gypsy-brewery. The Triporteur beers are our point of departure and our basic beers. Besides those, we also launch a special beer line with once-off products.

(bottle, 33cl) Hazy, golden colour with a big and blond foamy head. Fruity and flowery hoppy aroma with notes of grapefruit and pineapple, backed by slightly bready malt and a tinge of Belgian yeasty spice. Moderately bitter flavour, medium to light bodied with a dry and crisp mouthfeel. Mildly (cara-)malty taste with fruity and slightly resiny hops; quite dry and bitter hoppy finish with an aromatically hoppy tail and a light but also rounded malty sweetness. Promising APA/IPA interpretation from Belgium. 16.II.13

Pours amber with a small head.Nose shows light malt, doughy belgian yeast, typical spicy phenols and very soft esters.Somewhat plain flavours. Non-descript malt, faint apple and pear notes and a bit of a doughy character. Also some fusel alcohols.Too much carbonation.

33cl Bottle from ABS Drinks Winksele. ABV 6.6%. Dark brown colour, light-beige head. Aroma of moccha, coffee, bitter chocolate, roasted malts, light fruity. Flavour is medium sweet, roasted malts, chocolate, light coffee, bitter roasted finish. Light-bodied, over-carbonated. It’s OK, but due to the high carbonation not very pleasant to drink.

Bottle, 8C. Hazy orange with a puffy white head. Aroma is doughy and spicy with oranges, lemon, peaches. Fruity sweet, but citrus flavours and balancing bitterness rush up to join. Light sourish dough, mild spices. Dry finish. Chirpy, rustic and enjoyable, with fair flavours that are brought together very nicely.
