At the source: pours amber with off white head. Afoma is rye and pine. Taste is quite bitter and much along the same line. Cannot drink too much of this for sure. Still it is fairly well crafted.

At the source: pours black with a tan head. Aroma is smoke, roasted malts, chipotle. Taste is slightly spicy. Very roasty. Very warming. Somewhat chewy. I do not know who would this be too spicy for, but the chipotle gives it a nice accent. I liked it.

The Sampler, Brooklyn tap: Pours near black with a boney head. Aroma is chocolate, light vanilla, some milky coffee. Taste is fortunately pretty light on the vanilla unlike some Vanilla porters (Breckenridge, I’m looking at you). Pretty easy drinking, but otherwise not particularly remarkable. I have had weirder and better beers from B&T.

A hazed golden ipa with a thick frothy off white head. In aroma, grassy biscuit malt with light pepper notes, smooth floral hops, grapefruit pulp, nice. In mouth, a nice biscuit malt with light pepper notes, smooth floral hops, light alcohol warmth, resinous character, light burning finale. On tap at Winter’s grind February 2015.

The Sampler, Brooklyn tap: Pours black nitro pours with creamy light beige head. Aroma is a lot of medium-dark chocolate, some light coffee notes, and a light roast through and through. Taste is moderately bitter. It is just a little bit sweet. Body was very nice. Lots of chocolate in the mouth. Quite good.

The Sampler, Brooklyn tap: this is a habanero IPA brewed for Bushwick beer bar The Sampler, which regularly stocks B & T beers. In any case, this pours orange with a white head. Aroma is citrus and plenty of pepper. Taste is a bit bitter, with a lot of heat. It is not, however, undrinkable, though I would not have more than one.
