ON tap at i2i, March 2019. Clear honey gold Mason jar pour; lacy. Fresh, peppery, toasty grain scent. Toasty, dry, fainty minty & lingering. Mild. Don't taste the spruce tips. Okay.

At Island 2 Island. March 2019. Mason jar pour. Brown, opaque iced tea, oatmeal head. Obvious honey & floral nose. Smooth, slight honey sweetness, something like sour peach, & a pleasant black tea-like astringency. Not an IPA exactly. Experimental strong ale.

On tap at i2i, March 2019. Opaque, golden brown Mason jar. Nose is lactose, milk chocolate, citrus, heather & honey. Thin, citrus, toasted nuts, floral/heather. More experimental, brown is just the color.

On tap @ the brewery. Cloudy, yellow gray. Still. Yeasty, faint anise nose. Dry, thin, herbal, anise, lemon, bitter backdrop. Not intensely spiced, but still strong enough to hide the cider. This would have opened up better if served warm. Not my favorite, but okay.

On tap on a lazy weekend afternoon at the Brewery in Crown Heights. Wobly, thin bar. Potpourri in the air that I mistook for the mulled cider they also had available. Cloudy gold. Extra foamy. Really takes on a satisfying beer-like head. Yeasty, mellow apple scent. Slight sourness. Great texture. Thank you malt. Dry, dusty, half sour, tasty bitter. Slightly tart, punchy tannins. Earthy finish. Supposedly this is prepackaged cider base, but doesn't come off as generic or indifferent in flavor. Had another pour right away. Really unique.

Draught @ the taproom (11/30/18). Hazy very pale yellow with no head, looks like pineapple juice, sharp ginger aroma, very low carbonation, bitter ginger taste, thin body, long finish with a bit of burn left on your tongue. Very gingery but somehow drinkable, after the first sip.

Draught @ the taproom (11/30/18). Opaque dark brown with foamy beige head, faint mocha aroma, adequate carbonation, medium bitter mocha taste with alcohol undertones, thin body, long dark chocolate cake finish with alcohol aftertaste. The alcohol escapes quite a bit, but the best brew I've tried here so far.

Draught @ the taproom (11/30/18). Clear dark brown with reddish tint, foamy beige head, mocha aroma, medium carbonation, bitter coffee beans taste with a bit of spice (tree bark?) thin body, long bitter finish. This one has more kick than others. I wonder if they really use the ingredient for the Mauby drink to brew this.

Draught @ the taproom (11/30/18). Cloudy pale yellow with very small frothy off-white head, fruity acidic aroma, low carbonation, woodsy/yeasty slightly sour cider like taste, thin body, long dry finish. Interesting brew, I did not know what 'graff' was when I tasted this. Learned later on that it's kind of an apple beer that originated in Stephen King's Dark Tower novel series (http://darktower.wikia.com/wiki/Graf). Fascinating!
