Aroma: intense wheat, some fruits, some spiciness. Color: very lightly hazy, almost clear golden. It has small white head, which dissapears immediately. The appearence is nothing like what I expect from witbier! Taste: intense sweetness and wheat; orange and spices in the finish. Lively carbonation. Overall: not very typical for belgian wheat. The appearance is really dissapointing, beside that the beer itself isn’t bad.

Can. Burnt chocolate and coffee nose, light fruits, a bit sugary. Shiny black with a fine, low head. Sweet and burnt, alcoholic, a bit weird. Some soy, chocolate, licorice, coffee. Bitter finish. Sugary and a bit cloying at first, very boozy in the finish. Not as terrible as I feared, but certainly not as good as Tokyo Black, and far too boozy. No well, it is pretty terrible.

Can shared during GBBF 2013 Day 4 - London. Big thanks to KyotoLefty. Pours clear amber with a light, white cream head. Nose of pine and bread - straight. Medium sweet flavor with notes of melon, pine and mild caramel. Light bodied with fine to average carbonation. Modest hop resins in the finish with more pine, faint caramel, bread. Tasty and nicely balanced if a bit simple.

Shared at Tadg’s, a marked departure from other Yo-Ho beers. A nice amber brown color with a nutty honey boozy caramel taste which is sweet and malty.

Finally saw this in a shop! . A porter brewed with beans...At Asahiya, 7% a dark black pour with a light beige head and a smooth chocolate aroma & a hint of beans. Smooth, roasty, chocolate, grape, pretty good actually especially for just 315yen.

Backlog. On tap @ Popeye, June 2008. Not sure which year, but it was advertised as 8.5%. Aroma’s of sweet fruits, caramel, a bit alcohol, also some hop-bitterness retronasal. Flavor is moderate sweet & moderate bitter. Alcohol feel is quite strong. Body is medium to full. Long, bitter finish. Excellent.

12 oz. can from MaruMan supermarket, Nakano, Tokyo. Clear golden color. White head, not too much. Aroma’s: flowery hops, hints of citrus, hints of malt. Rertonasal the citrus is more pronounced and additionally there’s some hop bitterness. Flavor is quite bitter, but with some grain/malt for balance. Medium bodied. Finishes with a delicate flowery hop bitterness. Not extreme, but tasty and balanced.

12 oz can (from Maruetsu supermarket, Nakano, Tokyo). Light amber to orange color, a bit hazy. White head (not much). Aroma’s: malty sweet, fragrant aromatic hops with a little fruit (confit) retronasal. Flavor is moderate sweet with a starting bitterness. Light bodied but not thin. Finishes with a delicate bitterness and some grain. Certainly decent.

6.5% Can, 315 yen from Seijo Ishii. It has a Belgian yeast with hop aroma. The flavor is fruity yeast esters followed by a bit of a heavy handed hop bitterness. The finish is kind of ascerbic. Drunk from the can it is ok but nothing to write home about. --- Beer merged from original tick of Zenryaku Konominante Kiitenaize Sorry #02 on 27 Feb 2021 at 10:27 - Score: Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 8 | Overall - 6. Original review text: Yo Ho Sorry White IPA 6.5% Very clear gold with a dense off-white foam. A spicy wheat and fairy full body with sweet tarts and Sorachi Ace type hop notes. Decent flavor and for less than 300¥ an alright find at Liquor Mountain.
