Twisted Barrel Ale
Microbrewery
in Coventry,
West Midlands,
England 🏴
Associated Venue: Twisted Barrel Brewery Tap House
Established in 2014
After months of hard work developing a small selection of beers that would appeal to Coventry's patrons thirsting for our unique mix of modern and classical styles and methods we launched our beers at Coventry's number 1 bottle bar, Inspire, and it was a huge success. Originally brewing on a 60 litre kit, we described ourselves as 'the UK's first Pico-brewery'.
20th June 2015 and we held another launch. This time in our brand new Brewery and Tap House at FarGo Village. With a new 1000 litre brewing kit and an entirely new brand design from Stewart Easton, we've finally become the brewery we always set out to be. Almost 2 years later we transferred our bar and brewing kit into a space about 5 times larger than before, we're still serving the best beer at FarGo Village.

Draft at Cherry Reds, Birmingham. Very hazy dark orange with small white head. Aroma is slightly medicinal with a tangy tropical pineapple, papaya and a softer peach. Flavour of pineapple, guava, lime with a moderate but building bitter hop profile. Medium bodied with a fine lively carbonation which works well. Decent.

Handpull cask at the Blue Boar, Leicester. Light brown and clear with a sizeable buff head. Grainy aroma, light malt notes. Sweet taste with a sour bitterness near the finish. Chocolate malt, a hint of white pepper. Not the most exciting mild but certainly damn competent.

Keg at Twisted Barrel Brewery and Tap House, Coventry. A hazy golden/yellow coloured pour with a medium white head on top. Sweetish, hoppy, lemon, coconut taste and aroma. Not overly complex but it's fine.
