Sampled on draft at the brewpub this beer poured a black color with a medium sized foamy tan head that left excellent lacing. The aroma was vanilla, cardamom and anise. The flavor was dryish and roasty with a strong cardamom presence followed by dust, anise and vanilla. Very long finish. Cardamom starts to overwhelm. Moderately full bodied and smooth. Interesting.

Sampled on draft at the brewpub this beer poured a black color with a medium sized foamy beige head that left good lacing. The aroma was vanilla, toasty malts and a touch of cream. The flavor was real vanilla bean, toasty malts, wood, cream, almost rum and dark fruits. Long finish. Moderately full bodied and smooth. Excellent.

Sampled on draft at the brewpub this beer poured a dark amber color with a medium sized foamy white head that left decent lacing. The aroma was tangy, sweetish, citric and a bit yeasty. The flavor was tangy and sweetish with yeast and phenol. Medium length finish that turns a bit dry. Medium bodied and smooth. Meh.

Sampled on draft at the brewpub this beer poured a bronze color with a medium sized creamy white head that left good lacing. The aroma was tart and bitter with lemon, citric acid and a bit of pine. The flavor was bitter, tart and tangy with a bit of butter then citrus and pine. Long finish. Medium body. Not good.

Sample at Portside Distillery during Cleveland Beer Week. Hazy rhubarb color with a medium pinkish-white head that diminishes steadily to a sparse outer ring. Spotty lacing. Tart fruit, yeast and malt aroma. Medium body with flavors of raspberry, yeast and doughy malt. The finish is moderately tart with a raspberry aftertaste. Decent overall.

Sample at Portside Distillery during Cleveland Beer Week. Dark orange color with a thin off-white head that dissipates quickly. Spotty lacing. Caramel, malt and mild hops in the nose. Medium body with flavors of caramel malt, fruit and slight hops. The finish is sweet with a malty aftertaste. Decent overall.

Tropical fruit, yeast and malt aroma. Light-bodied with flavors of yeast, fruit, mild hops and malt. The finish is fruity with an herbal yeast aftertaste. Decent overall.
