Tap at the brewery - clear straw color - aroma of toasty and bready malts, a bit Munich richness, lightly grassy hops - flavor is mostly clean, round carbonation in the mouth - fairly rich malts, followed by toasty notes, tempered by a peppery and grass hop bite on the end - the finish is slightly unclean, but otherwise a pretty solid offering.

On tap at Hay Merchant. Pours a cloudy yellow with medium white head leaving sticky lacing. The aroma is strong yeast and grass. Thin mouthfeel with light grass flavor and light sweet finish. Decent.

On tap at the Moth. Pours with a hazed brown hued body with a small off-white head. Aromas are of brown sugar, plums, prunes, dark fruit, nutty, malty and earthy. Light alcohol aromas for the ABV. Flavors are of dates, dried plums, dark fruits, low chocolate, nutty, estery, a hint of roasty or pale chocolate malt. A touch of spice from somewhere (I am assuming phenols, but could be hops). Complex although slightly muddled yeast character. Medium bodied, balanced carbonation, somewhat warming.

On tap at BTBF and the brewery. I guess it shows that Jamie hasn’t lost a step from the Covey’s multiple GABF and WBC medals for the Vienna. Pours with a clear golden-copper hued body with a retentive white head. Aromas are huge toasty malt, baked bread, biscuity. Low floral hop. Very clean fermentation. Flavors are toasty, lightly floral, honey, bready, biscuity. Probably the best Vienna that I have ever had (including Heater Allen Lagers, Great Lakes, Jack’s Abbey, etc). Clean, dry, biscuity with medium body. Drinkable. Spot on beer.

On tap at BTBF and the Brewery. Clear golden hued body with a white head. Aromas are of toasty malt, low yeast, grassy hops with a bit of tropical fruit and lime zest. Flavors are toasty, mild diacetyl, malty and grain. Citrusy and herbal hops. Dry. Dry, elegant esters, very easy to drink. Low bitterness. Quaffable and dry pale ale.

On tap at BTBF and several more times at the brewery. Pours with a clear golden orange hued body with a lasting white head. Aromas are malty, bready, biscuity and toasty. Medium-light esters, a hint of hops, and a very light dose of diacetyl. Flavors are pretty awesome and full for a sessionable beer like this. Great toasty malt, low esters, very bready. Medium carbonation, off dry, toasty and very drinkable.

10 oz draft pour at The Common Table in Dallas, Texas. The pour is a clear golden copper with a smallish off white head. The aroma is biscuit malt, light malt sweetness, grass and hay. The taste is the malt, lightly sweet, grass, and dry straw earthiness in the back. The palate is light to medium bodied, active course carbonation, and the straw earth finish. Clean and tasty.
