Description
It is in the Lot valley, on the foothills of the Aubrac plateau, that the Brasserie d'Olt has been housed since 1998. Surrounded by unspoiled nature, nourished by our cultural and culinary heritage, we celebrate our region day after day through our brewing achievements. Perhaps you have already guessed our unique ambition: to invite you to taste, with each sip,
At the base of the manufacture of our beers, Boraldes water, as well as other sources from the Aubrac mountains, directly supply our brewery. Before being used, the water is naturally purified by two particle filters: the first, in stainless steel, contains activated carbon, the second is a fine filter of 0.02 microns. This very basic water (pH 8), characteristic of our region, gives our products a unique flavor.
Beyond water, an essential component in the manufacture of beer, we select quality raw materials. These premium ingredients release aromas that create the typical characteristics of the beers we make. Our malts and hops, guaranteed GMO-free, come from exceptional terroirs.

Taste: pretty sourish start, chemical, lots of band-aid, glue, pretty weird and bad. Aftertaste: more of same, very unpleasant.

Very yeasty, jumps out of the bottle, but the head ends up pretty small and the body is foggy yellow with mounds of floating debris. Aroma of wet farts, particle board, rotting lemon juice, moldy lettuce. The taste is more like a saison, fermented vegetables all over the place and that trademark French watery palate. Nothing to like about this one.

330ml bottle found at a fromagerie in Paris. Okay head, weird brown-orange swampwater body. Aroma of brake fluid, a compost heap, and smelly socks. The taste is mostly brake fluid, or perhaps a spiced-up gueuze if you will. Then, while you’re humming and hawwing over what brand of brake fluid it might taste like, you can’t help but notice the watery palate. I want to support the French microbrews, I really do, but putting stuff like this on the market doesn’t help their cause.

Bottle at Le Sous Bock, Paris
Hazy amber color, with disgusting floating particles, too many. The aroma shows a light sourness. The flavor is simple, just some residual sweetness, and even if not too disgusting, it’s clearly spoiled by an infection, as I suspected from the aroma. If not infected, I guess it may be a simple sweetish Ale with a light fruity touch, and deserve a rating of 28/29.

Hazy blond color. It has a light citrusy aroma. The flavor is very simple, quite dry mouthfeel, watery, with a light citrusy touch, but the kind of some flu medicaments. Refreshing but too simple.
