Pours black with a large, tan head.Nose shows roasted malt, soft booze, chocolate and soft vanilla oak characters.Lots of roasted malt as a flavours too, alongside soft booze, some sharp oak and belgian-like spicy notes. The oak and alcohol is a bit too strong for my liking.Body could be a bit thicker.

(bottle) Poured black with coffee coloured head. Aroma is intense and impressive with coffee, roastiness and smokey hints overlaid on the base of a stout. Full bodied, oily with lovely fine carbonation. The flavour is rich and intense - dark roast malt, molasses, coffee with a good long finish with with bitter notes both with hop and black coffee resemblance.

(draft at brewery) Clear, strong amber with little head. Lovely floral hop aroma. Light body, medium carbonation. The flavour is excellent, with a strong contribution from the hops of interesting floral and fruity notes, and with some restrained bitterness in the finish. A really tasty and easy drinking beer.

(on tap at brewery, but as Rudeboy Pilsner - which I suspect is a rebadging of this beer... http://www.murraysbrewingco.com.au/our_beers/our_beers_detail.php?Rudeboy-Pilsner-2) Clear straw with some white head. The aroma is subtle and pleasant - subtle sweet candy and floral hints. Light body, well carbonated. The taste is very soft for a pilsner - distinct and pleasant sweetness (candy / peardrops?). Pleasant easy drinking beer.

(draught) Very dark with decent tan head. Aroma is coffee and roasted almost smokey. Medium body, light carbonation. Flavour is pretty much regular porter. Overall a good beer for its style.

Pours black with a large, lasting dark tan head.Nose shows dark chocolate, resinous hops, oatmeal and wood notes with solid roasted malt backing.Very big, powerful flavours, lots of piney, resinous hops throughout, with cocoa and chocolate fudge showing up only momentarily. Boozy finish, but not over the top or hot.Pretty bloody good but a little over-hopped for my liking.Nice syrupy body, carbonation seems just a little high.

(bottle) Pours clear golden with little head. Lovely aroma - complex floral and fruity bouquet. Medium body with good carbonation. Beautiful foretaste from the hops with the complex and light floral and fruity notes in the aroma. Solid mid-taste with malts balanced with bitterness. However the finish is a bit soft for a beer like this: the hoppy bitterness that shows such promise earlier does not deliver a long bitter finish. Overall a nice IPA: lovely flavour and nose, but room for improvement in the finish. Rated: saturday, december 24, 2011 Edited Feb 2012 for changes to availability

About 13C. Clear dark red with a beige head that is never less than a good coat and leaves lots of lacing. Aroma of toffee, sherry, dried orange peel, pine, mocha. A little obvious alcohol. Oily mouthfeel. Taste is sweet but thoroughly cleaned up by slightly spicy bitterness. There’s toffee and dried fruit, but the extent of the whisky flavours is a surprise given the aroma - although it’s more obvious going back to sniff. Some salt and oak at the fairly boozy end. Half expected the hop aromatics to be jarring, but if they ever were they’ve settled down nicely.
