Bottle. Toffee coloured, fading tan head. Aroma has roasted malts with dried fruit (dates?). Really quite syrupy. Port and tokay flavours, but the mouthfeel is smooth and remains pretty clean. Good, but not really my sort of thing.

Pours amber with an off-white head. Good head retention. Aroma of grass, cardamom, pine, nectarine. Flavour starts malty and quite sweet. Long, moderately bitter finish. Hints of English as well as American PA. Have had some less good bottles, some with rather sticky heads. (10/2010) [3.6] Huge white head, massively overcarbonated. Aroma is subdued and the fruit and spice flavours are less distinct. Pleasant enough, but not the beer it was.

Bottle. Light bronze, off-white head. Smells of orange peel. Tastes of it too. Nice matching lightly toasted malt. Some fruity hops, mild finish. Lacks a little weight.

Dark brown pour with an off-white small persistent head.Quite sweet aroma of chocolate, coffee, caramel, along with more unconventional notes of citrus (orange), white grapes, and cinnamon. A lot lighter and fruitier than I expected!Big flavour profile of sweet roasted malt and some of those afore-mentioned fruits and spices. Alcohol is definitely present in a sweet almost cloying finish. Some spicy hop flavours present but little of the bitterness.Very rich body, quite chewy. Alcohol makes for a velvety mouthfeel.If it wasn’t for the massively sweet boozy finish this would be great.

Bottle 75 cl. Hazy yellow with a white head. Sweet but somehow skewed citrusy nose. Medium body, a little low in carbonation, sweet fruits and malt with a yeasty edge. No bitterness. 110709

75 cL bottle. Pours hazy dark orange with a small white head. Aroma is mild yeasty and slight fruity. Sweet malt flavoured, light bitterness and fruity note coming through, Smooth and fruity finish.

Bottle shared at RBSG Grand Tasting. Nose of light banana notes, lightly bready yeast, and spices. Cloudy yellow with a small white head. Flavor was light sweetness and spices.

Pours a lovely ruby/amber with a small off-white head that shows good persistence and lacing.Aroma is fruity as! Tangerine, pineapple, paw paw, grapefruit and passion fruit. Then there’s some spicy and resinous hops in the background, along with some sweet malts.Taste is some brief citrus fruit up front before a strong sweet malty backing and some alcohol show their presence. Green hoppy bitterness follows in a finish of reasonable duration.Smooth alcoholic heat creeps up on the palate. Lovely cream body.Murray’s continue to amaze me with their brews.

Pale amber, approaching straw, with a huge head, that shows great persistence.Very clean, grassy, floral and lemony aroma. Some very light sweet malt in the background. I would have liked more spicy hops.Flavour is quite similar (lemon/grapefruit/passionfruit and some sweet biscuity malt) but also shows more of a spicy character, and is followed by a decent clean hoppy bitterness.Too much carbonation, but otherwise pretty bloody good!

Glorious amber-orange hue, slightly cloudy. Effervescent carbonation sustains an impressive inch high head.Huge aroma, full of oranges, grass and peach blossom. Biscuity matiness is detectable behind the massive floral hoppy goodness. This really is magnificent.Taste is dominated by green hoppy bitterness, with sweet malts and floral notes in the background.Body is pretty decent (e.g., not watery like some common APA’s), but the carbonation is pretty high.Damn, this is an excellent example of the style, a really great summer beer too.
