12 oz. can purchased at Total Wine - The Rim, San Antonio, TX. Pours a super dark brown color with a dark tan head and very good retention. Spots of lacing. Dark malts aroma. Charred malts flavor with a little dark bittering chocolate in the finish. Slightly thin for a porter. Low carbonation. Easy going, as advertised. Nothing great, nothing bad.

One of two 12 oz bottles (bottled on 8/31/20 it says on the label) in a special release box found in Ft. Worth a few weeks ago. To commemorate the occasion, I'll be using a Cowtown Brewing snifter for the pour. I see a black liquid with the barest indication of brown around the edges with an all there-before-flattening, tawny tan head. Nice scent, very boozy with dark chocolate and berries. A drink now, geez, no disappointment here. It's like a slice of semisweet chocolate cake that is infused with alcohol. Black licorice, cocoa powder, raspberry, dark bread, malt, caramel and molasses. An obvious input from the strong ABV content. Not for the unprepared.

Bottle (8/27/20) pour from Total Wine & More, Burlington. Appearance is opaque black (dark brown at the bottom of the glass) with a bunch of white floaties, light sparkle at the edges of the glass, finger-width light-brown creamy foam head with fair retention and no lacing. Aroma is mellow roasted malt, strong lactose, vanilla and chocolate. Taste is chocolate milk, mild roasted bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with creamy texture, average carbonation and finish as taste with mild nuttiness and lingering roasted bitterness to offset the sweet. Overall, not blowing me away with complexity but a nice, strong milk stout. A bit overcarbonated.

Bottle from Tavour. Pours dark brn/blk with a slight tan head. Aroma of nice coffee and chocolate. Full bodied. Flavor is far from dry. Lots of chocolate; very nice coffee; smooth toasted/burnt malt. Bourbon/vanilla. Can't find wood tho. Excessively delicious.

From Tavour. Pours deep brown with minimal light brown head. Fades quickly. Aroma is only peanut butter. But spot on for that! Taste is thin peanut butter and chocolate. Thin mouthfeel and I can’t believe this is 9%+. Some creaminess as it warmed but a bit artificial tasting.

Pour is a thick motor oil black with a very small tan head. Aroma is marshmallow and sweet molasses. Flavor is coffee, dark bakers chocolate and an intense roasted malt. Finish is thick and leave a lot of roast on the tongue. The only gripe I have against this beer is that I did not get much chicory. Nice flavor with a big roast and coffee.
