Bottle sample @ RBBWG 2016, thanks Dylan.

Sampled from bottle @ Ratebeer Belgian Winter Gathering 2016. Opaque pitch black color, average to medium sized light brown head. Aroma is malts, oak / wood, wood tart, dark malts light vanilla. Taste malts, light bourbon, dark malts, a bit more bourbon, only a slight hint of caramel and dark chocolate, nice bitterness. In the end, the texture is quite thin for an 11% ABV beer, the bourbon is present but not to a degree I would have liked, body is average to decent, carbonation is decent to medium. In the end not as good as I had expected.

On tap at Bangers. Minty, candy cane goodness, ordered specifically to go with dessert. Mint dominates aroma and taste, but not enough to mute the other characteristics. Not for everyone, but in the right place, at the right time....

12 oz goblet draft at The City Tavern in Dallas, Texas. The pour is a dark brown black, opaque with a well formed one inch khaki head. The aroma is big roast, sweet caramel, dark chocolate and finishes with evident alcohol. The taste is strong roasted malt, caramel vanilla milk sweetness, licorice, and closes out with an integrated alcohol to the finish. The palate is medium to heavy bodies with soft natural carbonation and the roast alcohol sweetish finish. Solid.
