Dark brown with a thick caramel head. The aroma is quite woody, but also with some butter that the hop covers up a bit. Some woody hop taste, with mostly roasty malt notes. Ok, basically a black APA.

Must be the Paddo Pale Ale. Hazy light amber with thin, bubbly head. Fresh, fruity hops on the nose, showing the perfume of the galaxy and the floral amarillo, which are at this point what the beer is made with. Gentle bitterness. Some cantaloupey fruitiness, soft sweet pale malts. Refreshing and balanced, finishing with a papaya accent.

From a 330ml bottle on 16/12/2012. Labelled ’Sydney Summertime’ from the Sydney Brewery (which was previously known as the Schwartz Brewery). Pours a clear bright yellow with a big white head. The bottle promises hints of tropical fruits and pineapple on the nose, but all I got was some slight graininess. In the mouth, it’s quite sweet, with the slightest touch of fruit there, and a barely perceptible bitterness. Not sure why they would bother making an ale this bland. Has about as much character as a macro premium lager. Pretty ordinary stuff.

From a 330ml bottle on 11/6/2012. Pours a slightly cloudy golden with a medium head. Has a slightly sour, fruity aroma. The flavour is slightly fruity, though not particularly sweet, with a slightly sour bitterness prominent. Has some bready and grassy notes. Can’t say I’m a fan.

From a 330ml bottle on 11/2/2012. Pours a medium golden with a smallish head. Has a slight grainy, malty aroma. Flavour wise, there’s some sweet malt and a very mild hop dash of hops. Not a particulalry good pils.

Tap. Clear dark cola brown with a dense beige head. Cocoa, toast, caramel and grass aroma. Taste is quite dry with chocolate and coffee, toasted malt and mildly spicy bitterness. Very decent clean black lager.

Bottle (bought from brewery bottle shop). Hazy pale golden with no head. Very little aroma. Tangy citrus flavour with tastes of bread and honey; little bitterness. Nice and refreshing beer with some interesting tastes.

Draught. Golden yellow with decent white head. Aroma of hops and malt. Light body with medium carbonation. Light malt foretaste with reasonable hoppy bitter finish. Decent beer, but not special.

Draught at the brewpub. Very dark brown, small head. Nutty with loads of molasses and toffee. Sweet with clean, filling mouthfeel. Notes of fatty chocolate. Bold and simplistic both in flavour profile and mouthfeel. Feels almost plastic.

Draught at the brewpub. Clear golden, small head. Light orangey/spicy hop aroma. Dryish with clean, sharp mouthfeel. The salty bitter finish has notes of metal. Unbalanced.
