Bottle. Gold with a white head that lasts very well. Aroma of melons, fairy floss, paper, antiseptic. Very sweet with strong bitterness that come flooding in at the end. Both the fruity and papery notes are subdued by the bitterness and a fair wallop of booze. Strong hay and crackery malt sweetness, some herbal and antiseptic notes. IIRC the AT-AT was a large, easily tripped-up robot cow in Star Wars. This is certainly one to make you stumble before muppets.

"Is there any Big Pigeon Imperial Nibs in that chilly bin?" would be a good Kiwi shibboleth. But so would "shibboleth". Bottle. Dark brown with a small light tan head that’s soon less than a coat. Earthy aroma of chicory, chocolate, light roast, coconut, vanilla. Lightish bodied. Dark sugars, coconut, vanilla. Dry with some herbal and burnt notes along with a fair bit of bitterness at the end. Body and richness are missing here - I can imagine what’s here as accents in a really good beer.

500ml bottle. Pours dark and thick with a strong brown head. Aroma is coffee, chocolate and a little dusty toast character. Flavour has the same bitter coffee up front, a hint of tart raspberry and then a long sweet chocolate finish. There’s a little alcohol heat that builds up too. For me, that raspberry hint could be a little stronger, but it’s still pretty irresistible. The body lacks the silky smoothness of Kereru’s Imperial Nibs, as there’s a little too much carbonation for the style.

500ml bottle. Aroma is coconut, chocolate and vanilla. It’s like a dark bounty. Flavour is thick, sweet, bitter. Huge chocolate, huge toasty coconut and a sweet vanilla finish. I am embarrassed about how much I love this.
