Cloudy dull magenta, small pink head. The aroma all stale fruit - vaguely sweet and sour cherries or raspberries, natural, but pretty badly rotten. Traces of autolysis. There's some nice underlying sweetness too. The taste is nothing resembling beer, all fermented tart fruit juice, again, obviously stale. Not a bad fermented fruit drink, actually. Of course, if you can tolerate the rotten fruit stuff.

Cloudy pale straw, big. The aroma has notes of pineapple and mango, lots of green grassy hopfenweizen style hops, a little bit of yeast. The taste has quite a bit of herbal, grassy hop flavour, it the malts are just too shy, even by regular weizen standards, leave alone a hopfenweizen. Crisp mouthfeel, low bitterness. Almost good.

Cloudy dark ruby-brown, beige head. The aroma is all licorice, Valerian, maybe some ginger and clove. Way over te top with the spices, which basically shadow the malts completely. The taste is pretty much the same. Medium to thin body, no hoppy bitterness, which leaves the aftertaste a little watery and overly sweet. Too much spice, not enough porter. Oh, and no whisky at all.

BOTTLE. Hazy pale yellow, diminishing white head. The aroma is sweet and spicy - ginger lemonade of sorts. The taste has light lemon/unripe orange tartness, lemon pith, just a hint of earthy ginger and a nice drying finish even without being bitter at all. The feel is really easy on the palate and refreshing. Not your regular beer, but a pretty successful experimental drink. Like it.

Draft sample at BCBF 2018. Tart fruit +passion, lemony and zesty. Nice mouthfeel, velvety astringency, light bitterness. Nice.

BOTTLE from Berero. Nice bright yellow-golden, soapy white head. The aroma is over te top mango juice (or concentrate, dare I say?), but as it fades away some dried tomatoes get revealed. The taste is of a light hoppy (or hopless) ale with a bit of mango juice and macerated fruit astringency. So it's not the kind of mango that comes from lots of modern aroma hops, but more like fermented mango juice. Not the most successful experiment.

BOTTLE 50 CL from Berero. Hazy golden, white head. Smells of tart fruit, notes of lemon, but also subtle pale malts, hints of honey. Feels a bit young, maybe... Taste like a fresh german-style unfiltered pils - on the dryer side, yet you get a hint of honey-like sweetness, lemony hops, chewy mouthfeel, smooth grassy bitterness. Very nicely done.

BOTTLE 33 CL from Berero. Cloudy dark amber, creamy beige head. Really smoky and peaty nose, then you get a faint note of fresh apple - really weird but nice aroma, if you like smoky beers. The taste is and easy drinking chewey unsweetened apple juice with a thick smoky layer and spicy smoky bitterness. Really weird and unconventional, but actually enjoyable.

33cl bottle share @ Niamey's 3rd craft beer tasting, big cheers to Madalin for logging around 30 Romanians bottles to Africa.
