Christian Toullec created this cidery in 2000 after a career as an agricultural engineer specializing in agronomy and soil science.
His grandfather, an amateur cider-maker, had already initiated him to the ‘magic’ of cider. The contact with commercial cider producers in his professional activities inspired him to take the leap and change careers!
Melenig consists of seven hectares of orchards of seven traditional varieties of cider apples! These apples are grown organically there. Ciderie Melenig offers a very distinctive and original production.

75cl bottle from the producer in Brittany. Quaffed on Christmas Day 2025. Deep gold appearance, moderate effervescence. Good caramelised apple fruit to the fore with a prominent tannic fuzz. Lovely cider.

75cl bottle from Noz. Pours a hazed gold, medium to high carb. Aroma of full medium fruit. excellent scuzzy mouthfeel, full fruit sweetness, pommace, great full body, decent carbonation, nice rustic unfiltered feel. Really good.
