Bottle with gooovikings in KC. Thanks Jetson! Red orange appearance with a tan head. Light caramel, toffee malty, light citrusy nose. Caramel, toffee malty flavor with a very faint wheat note. It’s hard to consider this a wheat beer in my mind.

Sampler at the brewpub. This is supposed to be tweaked with the next release, that is part of the "prototype" aspect. Its a flabby watery and roasted stout. Black as hell and not much else. Its basically too much black patent and nothing more. No flaws, just weak. 6/3/5/2/13

Re-rate of the 12oz O’Malley’s version. A much better beer. Aroma is strong on ash and sweet but not sugary dark malts while the body is easy drinking yet full of flavor. 8/4/7/3/165 New rating.

Sampler at the brewery. How happy and surprised when I saw a new beer and one that was fitting for the scorcher outside. Color is dark hay. Has a slightly sticky lacing. Aroma is fresh white bread malts with a light fresh, crisp herbal hoppiness. Flavor comes with a bit more bitterness from the earthy, herbal hops. The malts are still pretty clean, just a tad bit sticky. Light and great with a great herbal hop finish. Weston really stepped it up with this beer.

Pour is a dark black with a large tan head. Aroma is a nice roasted malt with some dark chocolate. Flavor is a little weaker but a nice helping of rich dark malt comes through. Finish is dry and has some cocoa left on the tounge as this goes down. A decent beer especially for this brewer.

Pour is a dirty yellow with an average white head. Aroma is of some grain and that’s about it. Flavor is just adjuncts with a horrible burnt aftertaste. After reading some of the reviews I asked myself how bad could this be? Yea its that bad.

Bomber from Wine & Cheese in Clayton, MO. Pours dark ruddy amber with a tenuous foamy beige head. Strong spice aroma - seems to have lots of cinnamon and nutmeg. Med body. Lots of spice, not a lot of malt. Finishes a bit herby. Makes me wonder whether some pumpkin recipe slipped in somewhere. Fits the winter time.

Bomber from Wine & Cheese in Clayton, MO. Pours a hazy dark orange/gold with a foamy near white head. Aroma is pepper - not particularly spice, but the veg/chili aspect. The flavor is peppery though. And the veg aspect remains, but there’s a firm chili burn. And that seems to be the finish. Could be the best chili beer yet.

Pour is a dark red with an average tan head. Aroma is some spice a little caramel malt and ginger. Flavor has almost none of the spice in the aroma. Some oily malts with a minor spice toward the end but finishes soapy. Well it was cheap.

This is a really good pepper beer. If you want HOT pepper flavor with a clean, flawless lager behind it, this is the beer to go to. Your lips will burn a little bit, your throat will feel the heat and at first you will be able to taste a nice clean lager as well. I don’t really see the problem. This is by far the best beer Weston has made to date.

22 oz bottle purchased at Red X in Riverside, Missouri. Rated as Brew Labs No.2 Hot Pepper Ale. Pour is hazed orange golden with a one inch white head that falls fizzily. Aroma is fresh and hot pepper, earthy vegetable and the clean bright hot of the Serrano. Fresh and clean nose. Taste is the green vegetable along with a bright spice Serrano chili taste. There is not much too the base beer which works well to highlight the clean and spicy chili pepper. Some gentle breadiness is present to balance a bit. Palate is thin to medium bodied relatively bright and active carbonation with lingering spicy pepper. A touch watery as it warms. The aftertaste is really pleasant, and even can feel the heat on my lips. I really enjoyed and thought it was an excellently executed pepper beer. Nice job Weston.
