22 oz bottle purchased at Royal in Kansas City, Missouri - poured into my Free State Willebecher. Pour is slight hazed orange yellow with a big three inch off white head. Head is lasting, falls with nice full lacing. Aroma is faint mineral earthiness, a very faint touch of floral citrus hop behind that. Really faint nose. Taste is lemon and orange citrus up front, dusty earth mineral in the middle, and closing out with a general metallic dirtiness. As it opens, taste is more mineral and clean, improves quite a bit. There is a decent amount of biscuit malt balancing everything together. Aftertaste is dirt. Palate is medium bodied, lower than normal carbonation, some evident alcohol heat and the dirt aftertaste.

Shaker pour @ O’Malley’s Pub. Comes with a black body with a sticky tan head. Aroma is very cheap coffee grinds, it comes off very much like ash tray fumes. A bit cheap and watery aroma. Flavor is very watery and cheap old coffee again. Light dry ashy finish. Nothing special, a bit watery and cheap but at least its not infected.

12 oz bottle from Thiesti, who hasn’t rated this! Nose is fruity with caramel malt and yeast. Hazy copper with a medium cream colored head. Flavor is light, cidery apples and caramel. Pretty good Irish ale!

There is an odd, rotting orange peel aroma. Copper color. Flavor has light malt and grain, and just a little citrus again with some yeast. Well carbonated. Flavor is better than the aroma, and it drinks pretty good with a smooth palate. It might be better classified as a bitter.

Bottled (thanks heemer77). Hazy yellow colour, mediumsized white head. Aroma is hops, a bit fruits, slightly acidic. Flavour is acidic fruits, wheat and some sweeter fruits.

Bottled. Cloudy yellow, lively airy head. Citric nose. Fairly light bodied with restrained sweetness and rounded mouthfeel. Citric acidity hides whatever there is of malt flavour. No bitterness.

Hazy yellow aroma, big cloudy off-white head, lace. Fruity, earthy, some spices (coriander), sugar. Citrusy, sour, very carbonated mouthfeel. Propably infected. Interesting and not so bad ...

On Tap at O’Malley’s pub. Pale gold pour with a not very big white head. Aroma was straight forward, nothing really jumped out. Taste had a bit more complexity than I was expecting, some nice spiciness. Overall, nice drinkable beer.

Tap at Weston Brewing restaurant above O’Malleys in Weston. See my review for O’Malley’s Cream Ale for the overall experience, which is excellent. Not sure if I got a good one or not but this smelled and tasted like Vick’s Vapo Rub. I am unsure what they were trying to achieve with this one, but if they hit the mark, it’s not my type of beer.

RERATE: Returned to O’Malleys Pub on 4/20/07 hoping to try this on Nitro. Was told by barkeeper that they no longer offer this on Nitro, as they want the product to be consistent throughout distribution (bottle, other bars, etc.). Bummer, rating unchanged. ORIGINAL RATE. Tap, Weston Brewing Company. First off, all other raters are correct, this place is ABSOLUTELY worth a visit. Between the cellar bar at O’Malley’s and the entire complex, a very cool place. However, the pint I had off this stuff was rank. It was not nitro pushed, so it was very flat. I had it in the Brewing dining room, not in the pub below ground, maybe that’s the difference. I will have it again next time, and hopefully can re-rate.
