Ruby red color, small creamy off-white head. Aroma of fudge, vanille, sour milk and raisins. Coffee, alcohol, fudge in the flavor. Mouthfeel is soft but hoppy bitter finish and aftertaste. Quite unique and interesting dessert beer.

Bottled 25cl (BB 08/2006)
amber-ruby color with huge tight brownish head, nice lace. Aroma has plums, dates, coffee and roasted malts. Full-bodied - toffeish and sweet. Flat mouthfeel. Molasses, maple syrup and again plums (and raisins) in the flavor. Alcohol is present in the finish. Leaves roasted aftertaste. Nice complex beer.

Orange-amber beer with olive shine; near-gushing to yellowish head, very stable. Celeri, roasted malts, herbal, fruity & lactic, wet straw aromas. Roasted malts taste with sourish overtones (lactic & rhubarb), again vegetable in character. In the finish some restsugars. Quite fizzy, stressing even more the sourish touches, but the beer is thick, chewy. Alcohol obvious. Nice to see yet again a new brewery, and bottling on 33cl at that, but it has a still quite obvious home-brew streak.

Bottle: Light amber coloured, thin, long lasting white foam; complex nose: honey, caramel, raisins, traces of alcohol; sweet (fruity) flavour with a faint bitterness; creamy mouthfeel, warming; fruity-malty finish with a shy bitterness and rather well alcohol; a reasonable "winter-warmer".............

Das trübe und alkoholisch süßlich riechende Bier schäumt stark, die Blume hält mittellang. Das Bier hat sehr viel Kohlensäure, jedoch ist dies noch ertragbar. Es schmeckt anfänglich nach Wasser, im Mittelteil schmeckt man den Alkohol und ein leicht metallernen Unterton, der jedoch verschwindend gering ist. Im Nachgeschmack entwickelt sich eine gewisse Herbe, was auch dringend Notwendig ist, um das Ganze überhaupt als Bier bezeichnen zu können. Muss man nicht getrunken haben - ein Geschmackserlebnis bleibt aus. Übrigens: Dieses Bier ist ein Saison - Frühlingsbier. Test vom 2.10.2005, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 7,5,10,8,10,5 - 6,65

Draught My sample the original from Mortal’s Beers, not de Silly Fully hazy orange beer; extremely dense and fine head, slightly irregular. Malty and citrussy nose; slightly sweet, but I don’t get any alcohol let alone rum aroma. Taste: well, here they are. It’s like drinking benzene and sugar, mixed in beer. Not very nice, way too intrusive. Quite sweet, alcoholic by nature. Alcoholburn, heavy MF, nearly porridge-like. Not my kind of beer - excellent for an alcoholic with a sweet tooth. Maybe it’s appropriate that this is the first Jpie beer I don’t like - as I dislike rock groups... Was: 6/4/4/3/10 - 2.7 New rating for the Silly disaster, sorry, sample. Very pale golden beer; very huge, lacy head. Flowery tasting, alcohol but not necessarily rum. Horrible, fruity taste, artificial as non, like very sweet pineapple syrup and alcohol in the background, making it even sweeter. Slick to the point of oiliness, smooth in the pejorative way. To be avoided at all costs. Unless you like rock music - then you might like this, maybe?

Bottle. Hazy, very dark amber with a small beige head. Big caramel aroma with roasty malts. Caramel flavor, roasted malts, slight plum fruitiness to balance. Some alcohol present.

Well I guess it is time for the 2005 rating of this beer.
Cloudy dark brown orange color,. Candy sugar, chocolate, bannana yeasty nose, with just a touch of licorice. Smooth mlaty mouth with whisky, chocolate, rum balls and a moderately yeasy alcoholic warming finish with milk chocolate overtones. Nice beer, but alchol is a bit too present for me.

(Bottle 75 cl) Dark golden with a reddish hue, hazy with a tall, pretty and quite stable head. Some initial sweetness but still with a pronounced bitterness. Full malty flavours. The cork is dated 1997 and perhaps this beer has a slightly tired feel. Not flat, but perhaps earthy and musty - but then again, you also find that in some fresh Belgians. Still a nice brew though. 070200

(Bottle 25 cl) 7,5% ABV in this version. Unusually this is only light brown with a delicious, creamy head. Some faint smoky notes with a dry touch of caramel. Satisfactory. 150599
