On tap at Mountain Goat, pours a hazy orange amber with a medium beige head. Aroma brings out caramel notes and heaps of bready notes. Flavour brings out loads of bready notes and light caramel. Pretty weak and uninspired, but it's solid.

On tap at Mountain Goat, pours a dirty cloudy orangey brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out resinous hops and a touch of earthy breadiness. Flavour is dirty but strong, with earthy and piney hops. Light biscuity notes. Earthy and yeasty. Alright.

On tap at Mountain Goat, pours a cloudy deep dark orangey brown with a creamy beige head. Aroma is very restrained, with bready notes and very subtle English hopping. Flavour is along the same lines but even more tasteless. Weak and shitty. Pointless beer.

On tap at Mountain Goat, pours a hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out biscuity malt and piney hops. Flavour brings out lightly piney hops and biscuity malt in back. Creamy palate, but not terribly interesting flavours. Nothing overly interesting, but alright.

Bottle. Light amber with a large white head that lasts well. Subtle but deep aroma of pine (and a bit of cedar), grass, light toast, grapefruit, mandarin. Medium bodied. Some toast, peach and a fair bit of citrus that’s mostly mandarin, then lots of pine that’s woody rather than needles. Strong bitterness. Leans more towards pine than I’d like, but it’s good and hearteningly bold.

From a 640ml bottle on 13/3/2016. Pours a clear amber with a medium head. The nose is light caramel, butterscotch and toffee. Take a sip and it’s very sweet and malty - not surprisingly butterscotch and toffee, with some nuts in there as well, finished off my a very modest bitterness. medium bodies with moderate carbonation. A very tasty, well made scotch ale.

Stupid wax is still stupid if you show you know it’s stupid by putting two different colours on. Pretty much black with a good coat of light tan head that lasts very well and coats the glass. Muscular dried fruit and strong bread dough aroma, with raisins, dried bananas, peppery and vanillaish oak. Silky, alive and creamy texture reiterates what I liked about Mt Goat from the first Hightail I had. Full bodied with powerful fruit that’s very nicely kept in check by spiced bitterness, orange peel and a bit of leather along with the dough. No overt alcohol but it certainly drinks its weight. Right at the end there’s a little breath of whisky, but up to then I wouldn’t guessed. But it does creep up a bit after a while and become wearing enough that I wonder whether I should have shared the bottle.

Bottle. Very clear pale amber with a large white head that fades to a coat. Aroma of grapefruit, lemon blossoms, lime, a little pine, slight toast. Light bodied, just a little oily. Very clean. Neutral malt is supporting and plainly sweet. Lots of lime, some grapefruit. Quite bitter at the end. It does what it says: show off Citra. But I’m still drinking it and I’ve nearly forgotten it already.

Tap @ Taps Beer Bar, Changkat, KL. Clear amber, small white head. Light malty, caramely aroma. Malty, caramely flavour. Bitterness and caramely sweetness nicely balanced. Not bad for the style.

Had this on tap. Hazy amber. Big aroma is full of calamansi, wildflower honey and piney hop. Lots of bitterness with mandarin sweet citrus, hint of pommelo, dash of bitter piney hop and some toasty, biscuity malt. Fun IPA.
