(bottle, 33cl) Clear, pale golden colour with a blond medium-sized foamy head. Doughy and corny malty aroma with shy traces of grain. Moderately sweet flavour, light bodied with a moderate carbonation. Corny and papery taste of brewing cereals leading into a shy bitter finish with plastic-like notes. Only drinkable when being in the region. 28.VIII.10

12 ounce bottle courtesy of maniac from World Beer Festival Richmond leftovers. Thank goodness for the brown bottle. Pours a clear amber color with a thin white head. Good head retention and fair lacing. Aroma of grainy caramel malts and a bit of grassiness. The taste is green apple, caramel, grain and a grassy slightly toasty finish. Medium bodied. Not a great beer but vastly superior to most of the pale lagers out there.

Gold clour, decent foamy head. Smells of syrup and grain, but on the fruity side. Taste is sour grains, some hops, some corn. A bit interesting and not awful.

Huge shiny beige head. Deep dark red body with strong carbonation. Artificial earthy roasty aroma with soy sauce notes. Dry-sweet medicinal earthy taste with soy sauce notes. Mid-bodied. Mild mouthfeel. Dry roasty syrupy soy sauce aftertaste. Yuk. Useless. (0.33l bottle, Fish and Beer, Copenhagen.)

Light brown. Very worty, a little chewy. Boring macro dark with very little flavour. A shame - regular Beer Lao is nice when fresh but this stuff holds little promise.

WBF Richmond: No aroma. Clear pale yellow, medium head. Weak and almost flavorless. Miles of difference between this and Beer Lao Dark, which is far superior to this. If you need to tick Laos, drink the Dark.

Pecan, honey, aand bread nose. Clear brown, thin head. Nutty flavor, weak but good. Watery mouthfeel. Not awful and something I would drink once in awhile if it was more easily available.

Bottled at The Globe, Central, HongKong. Clear nut brown, small head. Fruity nose with some paper. Mid-sweet and medium bodied with clean mouthfeel and taste profile. Barely enough substance to hide the 6.5%. Fruity and a syrupy despite being relatively dry. No bitterness. Dull, lifeless and Carlsbergy.
