On tap at Beer Belly Temma, I was told it is about 6%... A very dark brown pour with red accents & a light beige head. A decent dark lager, some chocolatey malt notes, easy drinking but not so flavorful with a possible slight hint of grain. Ok.

6% On tap at the GJBF Osaka. An incredibly clear light gold pour with minimal head. The aroma is kind of lactic, very sour plum notes which for some reason reminded me of that sweet plum sauce you get at chinese restaurants to dip your egg rolls in. The flavor is tart & sour but very pleasant for a warm summer day. Not something you want a whole lot of, a half pint is probably enough but worth trying out.

I’ve had this several times and it is a solid weizen made in Osaka. You’re typical cloudy gold pour with a fluffy white head. Mild spicy sweet aroma and a light refreshing spicy weizen taste. Pretty average but nice.

泉州はっさくエール Not sure what that means, some kind of ale...Molto the 1st Anniversary Ale on tap at the two Moltos now! Made by Minoh, 500 yen half-pint at Molto’s 1year anniversary. 5.5% Very dark opaque brownish yellow with a light beige head. Quite a strong hoppy pine aroma, centennial or cascade. Taste is bitterly fruity with a spicy finish. Pretty refreshing.

At the Minoh brewery taproom, draft. It poured your an orange gold with a fluffy white head. A hoppy bitter lager which was really smooth and easy to drink. I liked it better than their pale ale. Well done!

Draught at the Tanabata Beer Festival 2013. Very pale gold with a fine head. Looks a bit like ginger ale. Nose of vinegar, ume plums, yogurt, funk. Not a very appealing nose. Flavor us better: sweet-and-sour plums, vinegar, yogurt, honey. Interesting. A bit too sweet, but quite refreshing and interesting.

On tap at Craft Beer Live 2013 in Osaka. A nice beer to start off the fest, it poured a amber-brown with a fluffy white head. It had a nice piney aroma with a really tasty flavor but not noticeably hoppier than a regular pale ale. It was probably made using West Coast hops so it’s hoppier than your average Japanese Pale Ale. Pretty Good!

On tap at Craft Beer Live 2013, I am a fan of fruit beers so I felt it was right up my alley. Not great but a pretty solid fruit beer. It has a solid sour peach aroma. It poured a cloudy gold with a decent head of foam. And was an easy to drink beer. Sweet & sour peach beer as the title suggests, pretty good.

Draught at Kamikaze. Not much of a nose, light san who, caramel. Ok spice and bitterness coming from the sansho, warm malts, very bitter, spicy finish. Decent, though not so special. I don’t think sansho works in caramel-heavy beers.

Draught at Molto. Nice, bright golden colour, cloudy, fine head. Nose is vinegar and peaches, plus some lemon and yogurt. Sweet and sour flavor, acetic acid, peach, yogurt. Doesn’t really work. Too sweet, and too vinegary.
