Aloha. That’s how most conversations begin here. It’s also how many of them end. But “Aloha” doesn’t just mean hello and goodbye and love and welcome. It means more than a word can express. It’s a feeling. A way of life. “Aloha” is the idea that we are all connected to everyone and everything around us and that true joy is found in respecting this connection. And it’s in this aloha spirit that the Kona Brewing Company was founded back in 1994 by Cameron Healy and his son Spoon Khalsa. They combined their love of Hawaii and its pristine, natural beauty with their fondness for delicious, local brews, and lucky for us, their dream lives on more than 20 years later.

Hibiscus and some citrus, grapefruit. Pours hazy orange with decent head. Better than I thought it would be. Manages the dry brut feel at the same time as hibiscus. Can.

Halmgul klar vätska med tjockt vitt skum. Brödig, degig arom med en lätt antydan av gräs. Bröd och lite gräs återkommer i smaken. Ren och klar smak.

Six pack from grocery store. Drank a few over course of Sunday. Lighter gold small head. Nose is some mango. Taste sof light mango, touch of that throat tingling mango pith gives you, some light florals and yeast. Thinner bodied for sure. But for the low calorie style drinkable.

Six pack for kicking around drinks this weekend. Clear gold pour. Nose is some yeast and fruit. Tastes of light mango that’s adds an odd sour element, apple, tea, dough. Watery palate.

Golden colour, mostly vanishing white head. Banana, grain and paper in the nose. Light-bodied. Pale malts, some banana and fruits, light lemony hops, very watery finish. Neh.
