Draught at St. Augustine's, Vancouver
Amber colour. Very simple malt and caramel profile, almost no aroma, low bitterness. Clean but very shallow, I could hardly identify this as a Bock.

Hazy light blond colour. More than a Pilsner, this is a weak Lager with some sweet cereal, rice, mild fruity esters, low bitterness. The hops are very mild, a bit more evident in the aroma, with some grass character.
Northern Germany indeed, which is not a positive thing for beer. Clean though.

Draught @ St. Augs. Dark brown. Thin head. Chocolate, quite toasty, mellow coffee. Abundant rye character lends it a bready charm. Fairly light body for an 8.9% beer. Moderate bitterness. Complex malt character, and just enough dryness. Ok, I'm loving what the rye does in here.

On tap. Pours a slightly hazy gold with a small, creamy, long lasting, off-white head that leaves curtains of lace. Aroma of grainy malt, lemon, spicy rye and earthy yeast. Sweet flavour of biscuit malt, spicy rye, lemon and pine resin with a dry, bitter grass finish. Light to medium body with an oily texture and average carbonation. Easy drinking, pretty solid.

Hazy copper-amber color with creamy head. Crisp and lightly biscuity malt base, smooth, mildly sweet, with delicate fruity esters, and correct bitterness.
Excellent job with the malt, this one is a great pleasure.

Blond and clean with generous head. Interesting malt base, very strong, spicy, possibly something else than barley, like rye or spelt or buckwheat; generous hopping with some grassy flavor, but just mild herbaceous aroma. Spicy finish.
Good, very clean, robust, a bit rough though.

On tap at Doan's, pours a clear orange with a small off-white head. Aroma brings out sweet cereal malt, light corn and caramel. Flavour is appropriately balanced, with caramel, bready malt and cereal notes. Very malty, yet not much sweetness. Good stuff.

Golden color, clean. Clean Lager, soft, dry but underhopped, with light coffee aroma and lighter coffee flavor.
Ok beer, hard to find a purpose for it though.
