Draft - Light citrus and funk. Clear gold with a decent white head. Grains, some hay and earthy notes. Clean finish, but there is just not much there.

Draught at the brewery
Cloudy light amber color with compact head, not persistent. The aroma is mildly sour, fruity and puckery; a bit smokey; it needs a few minutes to fully develop. The body is thin and dry; yes, it has yeast character, but it’s rather harsh initially, woody, astringent, and probably provides the light vegetable note in the final; correct bitterness, apparently with a delicate fruity hop character in the final.
I may guess that French Saison is an invention of the yeast lab. This is not much more than randomly throwing a strong flavored yeast in a generic batch.
The result is not too bad, I just don’t get what’s the purpose.

On tap at Powell Street, pours a hazy golden orange with a medium white head. Aroma brings out a lovely effervescent yeast character, with light spiciness. Flavour is along the same lines, with French saison yeast, a somewhat spicy character, and a bit of a dry woody quality. All in all, impressive with a Canadian attempt at a saison. Solid.

Poured from 650mL bottle. Muddy medium dark brown with full beige head. Acetic notes, mild cherry. That’s about it. Based on the other ratings, I thought it would be worse. Better than the P49 Li’l Red though.

Very nice initial pine here with touch of pineapple and citrus. Golden pour with great head and lacing. Light tangy finish. Tap at Drake.

Even when poured warm it comes out with a minimal soda-pop head. Lighter black body. Aroma of burnt barley and some plastics, fusels. Flavour is light burnt barley with some molasses sweetness. Watery on the mouth. This is not a good showing at all.

Draught at the brewery
Very dark color, almost black, but with mahogany shades, small head. The aroma is too mild, some roasted malt. The flavor is quite surprising, very rich; it combines roasted malts, biscuity hints, dark chocolate, roasted nuts, and a touch of cake, not without some rye and bread qualities; solid bitterness, it seems to have some resiny hops too.
Very nice.

Nice meringue head and crystal copper body. Aroma of dry hops with some sweetness. Good hop flavour with malt hints. No doubt that this is a well made IPA, one of the better ones in the city. Not sure about the world though.

Not a whole lot of good going on here. Some bittering hops, though not clear what. Ok malt. Easy palate. Golden pour. Light tangy finish. I’d skip. Tap at Drake.
