Poured from the tap. Muddy dark brown with light beige head. Light roast malt with a mild underlay of sarsaparilla. The root beer quality is fairly subdued; almost an average traditional porter (could’ve gone further with a gimmick beer).

Golden, slight haze, more of a sticky malt note. Boozy and sticky, not fermented well, and none of the happy liquid bread things.

Hazy dull golden colour with compact head. Aroma of stone fruit, yeast esters. Smooth, good body, moderately sweet, not getting much from the malt, but getting some North American yeast, esters, perfumey, some juice, very light acidity, low bitterness, and some alcohol in the finish.
Not bad, but…

Has a faint aroma of burnt matches, orangey brown body with little head. Flavour is burnt biscuit with vague hop hints. Mouthfeel is medium and dry enough. This is rather boring but somewhat drinkable.

Smells of soft malts with lots of sweet hops, has a clear medium copper body with tiny foam. Flavour is sharp plastic, hop resin, vague maltiness. Good balance on the mouth, nice oiliness. This is very heavy where there is no need to be.

Smells of sweet candy hops, has a clear light gold body with little head. Flavour is more sweet hops with lots of sugar. Dry on the mouth at least. This thing is just way too sweet.

Hazy to cloudy golden colour. Quite strong yeast character here, spicy and perfumey, not exactly authentic, the mouthfeel is mildly sweet, but from the aroma to the finish it also shows some vegetables, celery, not very pleasant on that.
Ok beer, some flaws.

Hazy golden colour. Bready malts, lightly sweet, touch of toffee, low bitterness, but not too much out of balance.
Decent Maibock.

Dull gold with slight haze. No head. Sort of a dullish simcoe character...not bright. Moderate bitterness. Lacks malt brightness too. All told, i think Moody is capable of better.
