Growler, pours a clear blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out light toasted malt, crisp cracker, and dry hopping. Flavour is crisp, with fresh toasted malt and dry hopping. Not a whole lot of character here. Just lots of crisp crackery malt and fresh hopping. Uninspired but easy to drink. Meh.

Draft - Lots of orange peel and sweet syrupy notes. Clearish gold with a small white head. Up front peel bitterness and lots of citrus.

On tap at Big Rock Urban, pours a hazy blonde with a small white head. Aroma is very odd, with some strange diacetyl-seeming notes and herbal notes. Flavour just brings out lots of herbal notes upfront, followed by some spiciness and root vegetables. Finishes bitter and herbal. Not a fan.

On tap at Big Rock Urban, pours a deep dark reddish brown with a small tan head. Aroma brings out lots of strange earthy notes and spices. Flavour is similar, with lots of earthiness, some roast, and loads of the spices. Odd, as usual for the style, but it works. Okay.

It’s a SMaSH beer with potato. Nobody knew what the malt and hop were. Go figure. Pale, cloudy, fruity. Lots of blackberry character. So maybe centennial or something similar?

Dark brown, big sage and oregano. Tons of sage, light body, big herbs. Thin but the spiciness is great, very fresh. The herbs came from the garden alongside the building, which might explain why so many of those critical aromatic oils were retained.

I had this, but can’t shed any more light on its relation to the prior White IPA. Quite cloudy, pale. Thin head. Light orangey hop note, solid bitterness and a lot of galaxy. Touch yeasty, definitely coriander. Not the best nor brightest of the white IPAs but decent because of all the galaxy.

On tap at Big Rock Urban, pours a cloudy yellow with a medium white head. Aroma brings out notes of coriander, spicy Belgian yeast, and a little citrus. Flavour is quite spicy, with a nice Belgian yeast character, a decent citrus hit and coriander. Clean and quite strong, with a good balance. Quite good.

Cask at Big Rock Urban Brewery, Vancouver
Hazy blond color with creamy head. It has all the elements expected from such beer, the fruity hops, the resins, and the spicy yeast, they are all powerful, yet in balance; it has some residual sweetness and a high bitterness level, and delicate crispy malts.
Very good example of the style, fresh.
